Deals.com.au Intershape Hair Design: Annoying.

So myself, and apparently almost 200 other people bought this deal which ran over the long weekend. Deal run down: Your Deals.com.au Voucher(s) are ready for your recent purchase of Only $59 for the Ultimate DOUBLE Make-Over! Get 2 x Style Cut & Blow Wave, 2 x Full Colour or 1/2 Foils, 2 x Conditioning Treatment, 2 x 15 MINUTE Head Massage PLUS 2 x GHD Curl or Straighten. Valued at $500 from Intershape Hair Design
They give you a year to use it.

Ok, so the place opens at 9. I try to ring at 10 because I forgot until then, couldn't get through until almost 11, when they told me that there were no free bookings until the end of May (at that point, around the 18th, which is the date which I start my teaching prac, so I am not free except weekends.) So I tell him this, and he goes ok, well weekends aren't free until June. So if you have this deal and didn't book in the first hour or so of being able to, you are probably looking at not being able to book. I'm just hoping that I will still be able to book the second appointment - maybe I should have booked both then?? :/ To me it seems as if they have only allowed for maybe one deals.com.au customers per day. Maybe I should just not have bothered mentioning that I was booking by voucher :/

I was about to buy that deal, maybe lucky that I didnt.
What if you went to the place in person to make the booking and dont say that you have a voucher?
That way if they have the booking book in hand, maybe you can see whether the timeslots are full or not.
Then later say 'oh by the way, I have a voucher' ;) And if they keep BSing, cause a drama?

      record it

i give it 80% that this will happen
as it is apparent that SOME business have a limit of how many group buy deals can be done per day

Which is not what was advertised at the point of sale for most deals. Unless there was a clause somewhere mentioning this when you bought the coupon, you should be able to call and book as a regular customer. Then call back and say you were given a voucher to meet the 'voucher must be quoted when making a booking' condition.

If they don't honour this, then take it up with deals.com.au and ask for a refund as a last resort.

  • Seems Cudo ran a similar deal, selling 478 so sounds like they've overbooked themselves.

    deals.com.au link

Bookings are absolutely essential. When booking, please state that you are using a voucher and please provide your 16 digit voucher number

So 197 something x 2 plus 478. I'd say they are telling the truth and overbooked themselves.

    • Uh oh, and another 597 sold on Scoopon

      • Oh wow… these guys are selling themselves out, lol. I'd noticed they have a huge presence on facebook but I only get the deal.com.au (formerly zoupon) deals because the more companies I get the more I feel spammed rather than informed… :/

I booked at one salon…they told me that they were only allowing for 3 zoupon customers per day, and I could only book for an appointment in June. I called Zoupon (now deals.com.au) to complain, as the 3 customers per day part was never advertised in the deal. The next day my friend called, spoke to someone different, and got a booking for the next week.

Oh and by the way, sometimes it pays to call the company before the deal ends. I've done this quite a few times ie called the company on the day the deal is run, and made a booking with them before I've been issued my coupon. I've just explained what's happened in the past, and that I don't want to buy with them if I have to wait a few months….and they've happily booked me in for almost immediately after the deal has ended. I'm talking about hair dressing deals here. But not all salons will allow you to do this. Worth a try though!

    • I really wish I'd thought of ringing them sooner, I don't mind waiting though since I need to go to the hair dressers this week for a wedding and didn't think I'd get through - and after that I don't want to go again for a few months anyway since I'm trying to grow my hair long :) I hate making a fuss because they always make you feel bad :(

  • Sparadise and No 4 in Perth are both very disappointing in their dealings with voucher customers. Yet Sparadise keep putting out new offers!
