Just moved to Sydney and looking at potential places to rent. Couple in our late 20’s. Was looking at Olympic Park as the rent seems reasonable enough for a modern apartment, close to train line and with NBN. Anyone on here live there? Is it noisey, bad traffic when events are on or how frequently are there events on? Any info appreciated

Train only goes to Lidcombe station I think. You need to change there for strathfield or central for a big exchange
You'll probably come to familiarise yourself with 'Sydney's worst roundabout' if you were to move there, depending on if you drive and in which direction you drive: https://www.news.com.au/travel/australian-holidays/road-trip…
Not on the train they wont! :P
Roads get packed during peak hour, but it's not so bad, save for the DFO and the worst roundabout. If you can change to North Strathfield, at least there's a train station that connects directly to the city, it's a walk or ride away from many spots and not so densely populated unlike Rhodes.
Not to mention still 'leafy'.You will probably regret it if you decide to stay there. Make no mistake its a good area where events and programs occur (concerts, sports etc). Most of the time its noisy and busy and plue the trains only goto Lidcome which is not really convenient and the traffic is heavy.
Love it, great place to live. x25 (express bus) to strathfield is a life saver in the morning and arvo.
Forget what people say, you barely notice the noise as that's predominately around the stadiums.
Also when there are large events on i.e Invictus there are trains that run direct to/from central every 30mins… :]
Thanks for all the feedback. I think we’ll give it a miss. What about Lane Cove, anyone living there?
Any suggestions? Will be working around Ryde/Silverwater area so would like a relatively short commute.
THere are events on every week, more so in the Rugby season. Traffic is woeful. Train only goes to one station.
Quiet in the night (except Friday and Saturday nights) or whenever the concert/rugby game is on.
