does it come with a usb-c cable or just the dock?

    • Should come with a USB-A to USB-C Cable.

    • 1 x Wireless Fast Charger, 1 x Type-C Cable.

    Is this any Good ???
    Any Recomendation

Shall i get this or Pay extra to get Cygnett or Belkin??

    Thanks in Advance

    • +2

I have two, one at home and one at work. I like them.

    • I have this and Belkin. Belkin boost up will charge iPhone faster, but which is hardly noticeable.

  • Would this charge with a case on?

    • My mi mix 2s came with a thin case and it works fine through that.

      • I have a Nillkin frost case and it also works fine.

        • under 4mm would be fine. One customer use Samsung wireless charge fail to charge with case, but working fine with this charger.

Is this the one that someone said overheats?

    • This is what stopped be from getting a few of these of my Pixel 3.

      • +1

Bear in mind that the Apple recommended Belkin one and Mophie one will also overheat after 5min through testing.
Testing done by Chongdiantou.com shows that the charging speed on iPhone 8Plus drops from claimed 7.5W to 5W effectively after 5-10min.
In the same test, they also used an Anker one with fan built-in to compare, showing that the fan activated chargers will output at 7.5W for about 1h before reverting back to 5W.

So if you are looking to fast charging iPhone, buy a Qi wireless charger with fans.

  • It says it has overheating cut off

  • Is 10W considered "Fast" charging?

    • +4

      For Qi, it is.

  • Anyone know if this is better than the BlitzWolf ones that pop up here often?

    • +1

I ended up buying a ravpower after reading all the comments in the last few wireless charger deals.

  • What charger do I get (separately) with this?

  • Hi

Just want to check how long for it to get posted….moving interstate so wanna get right address

    Cheers

    • +1

Ship it to an Auspost parcel box in your new hometown and you can pick it up then

      • thanks

I sent it to my new address….looks like they sent it out super early but was best to play it safe

Not leaving for 12 days but I was concerned how some stuff ordered online takes weeks or even months to deliver.

  • Very good price for this Qi charger

  • Would this work with samsung galaxy watch 2018 ?

  • Hi there, does it charge on xiaomi mi5?
    Cheers.

    • +5

Mi 5 does not have wireless charging.

      • Oh OK. Thanks mate.

  • Maybe someone can confirm but thought iPhones can only charge at 5v, = 5W which is not fast charging. QC phones will run at 10w which again is faster but not actual ‘fast charging’.
The similarly priced blitzwolf qi charger does up to 15w for comparison which is the max under the QI standard

This one does look amazing though but a shame about the low output and overheating issues

    • +1

iPhone technically support 7.5W charging but itself overheats and regulates the charger to produce 5W output only. This is a known issue in the industry, newer iPhone XS has improved coil design that helps very slightly in this regard, allowing for an extra 5~min of fast charging before reverting to 5W.

"Overheating" is misleading in this case, unless the charger has built in fans to dissipate heat (e.g. Samsung ones) their output will drop to 5W after certain period. In terms of low output, there's only a handful of phones that support 15W, most Android phones top out at 10W so this will be more than sufficient. Plus the Xiaomi build quality from a recent teardown is top notch, I'd choose this over the Blitzwolf alternative

      • Yes I get the iPhones support 7.5w, but I’m asking about this specific charger which says only 5V/5W but also says fast charging.

10w for android and 5W for iPhone, relative to other qi chargers which do 7.5w and 15w, does not sound like a fast charger is all

        • It does not say it is only 5V/5W. The max is 9V/10W. That is fast charging. Yes, 15w is even faster (if your devices support it), but more than 5W is still "actual" fast charging.

Xiaomi Wireless Charger supports fast charging of a variety of models, can provide 7.5W charging for Xiaomi MIX 2S, 7.5W for iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, and 10W for Samsung S9.

          • @JerryB: I didn’t say it only does 5v, I said iPhones would only charge at 5v and not 9v. If it were only 5v, then it would only charge at 5W, which is the same as the standard apple wall charger - 7.5w is what would be fast for iPhones

But thank you, that is the info I’m looking for as I was unsure about the above - where did that info come from

            • @blonky: Actually wireless charging works slightly different to cable charging, so the output voltage and current when using a wireless charger with an iPhone will be:

              9V1.1A (10W) 10 seconds => 7V1.1A (7.5W iPhone max support) 1-5min till the Charger "overheats"/up to 1 hour with fan activated charger (e.g. Samsung/Anker Qi charger with build-in fan) => 7V0.7A till phone "overheats" 1hour -> 5V1A rest of the charging session.

And by Apple standard anything above 5W is considered "Fast Charging"

How would this fair with the s9?

  • I'm thinking about hiding a QI charger in my bedside table by using a router to remove most of the timber from the under side of the table top and mounting the charger just beneath the surface of the timber. This looks like it would suit the application as it's flat and relatively thin. Can anyone see a reason why this charger wouldn't suit, or could recommend a better charger for the application?

    • You can buy the inside components for a job like this. Have a search on youtube. You can then buy the components on Gearbest

    • look at ikea Rallen, it’s designed to be used this way

    • Thanks guys, I think I'll go down the Ikea Rallen path, but I'm looking to completely hide the charger beneath the timber. Might end up using a router to cut out the timber just beneath the surface, hopefully it goes well.

      • AliExpress has heaps of different designs available to give you an idea of what to shop around on eBay and elsewhere. Take this one for example. Has an integrated USB and USB-C port as well as 5W Qi charging. Obviously no 7.5W/10W and much thicker.

  • Can you charge an iPhone and Apple Watch on this at the same time?

  • So would a QC3 compatible phone work with this?

    • No your phone needs to have Qi wireless charging.

      • So S7 edge will not work?

        • The S7 Edge has Qi wireless charging.

  • Just received this, but from Dresslily, and I like the quality of the build.

    • How it charges is probably more important?
