The best bargain is an elaborate system that incorporates algorithms that tell you when to catch the train, when to take an Uber, and whether or not you should just swim across the river to get to work instead of paying the toll.
Also when to wash your car.
We already have that, it's Quantumap spectrominum astrojurassicplasmosis
Could you listed any further different options?! Jees $35-53k bracket is just ridiculous.
Narrow it down to 3 after driving them etc, then come asking
Yeah, I kind of thought it boded badly when OP said:

That's… uh…. a wide range haha.
KIA Soul
Got one! Quirky, individual, roomy and very practical. Good deals going for around $23k as they are unknown. It's nice to have something a little different.
What are your circumstances and requirements? That helps a bit…
Pointless forum thread. OP has listed cars with no questions or expectations.
Plus each one would have different variants…
Buy whatever if under $80k - Quick check under Bonut is all that is needed. Only use OzBargain for anything above.
Ozb car of choice Toyota, thread closed.
OP is basically asking which one of these cars: 18,206 Brand New and Demo Between $35,000 and $50,000 Cars For Sale in Australia
Your prospective choices are all over the place. If a salesman knows your list, they'd be milking you for RRP.
Narrow it down to a class of vehicles. You don't switch from a SUV to small hatchback just as you don't walk into a toolshop thinking "I'd either buy a hammer or a screw driver, let's see what reviews say".
I don't care
C63 AMG
THe engine costs $50k.
Need another $100k for the car.
Get a Police car so you can speed around everywhere and get free Mcdonalds
pretty sure they don't get free Maccas or half of australia would be coppers
They do, it's just more paperwork these days as they now have to serve a warrant for it
AC12 will be after them if they dont disclose it as well
If you want an Audi then you should get an Audi. There is no bargain that will make up for an Audi shaped hole in your life except an Audi, or BMW, or a Honda or whatever car you know you really want.
get a bike
Hold off for 1 year and get a Tesla Model 3. Base model will be a little above the top of your current budget.
What about a kia carnival?
There's no way to say without any specifics. Mazda CX-5? Nissan X-Trail? Rav4? Personally wouldn't touch the X2, poor value IMO.
Forget those cars you have listed..!
Get a Peugeot 307 2003 for a couple of grand.
Car powers off randomly when driving.
Service at Kmart Tyre and AutoIm looking for something too. I really liked the kia rio and the nissan partrol. Can somebody recommend a car in between?
I have a Rio as a second car… I like it's styling for the current gen of small cars. However, I find the powerplant a little bit lacking. (Actually, it's probably more the transmission mated to the powerplant)
String…..piece……how long?????????????/
SUGGESTION TO OP
Plenty of car sales sites that will do this for you and even provide EXPERT reviews to help you make your decision.
Comments and suggestions made here are from people's own experience and personal priorities which may bear no relevence to OPs situation.New commodore. It’s European so must be good.
With the 10 year servicing on x2 is that just regular stuff only or including bigger ticket items if necessary like brakes, clutch etc?
Thanks all,
New Camry Hybrid - minimum 6 to 9 months waiting.
May settle with Lexus. ThxWho the hell told you that wait time?! A factory order is 3 months or so
We went to local dealer and they said 6-9 months minimum waiting.
If you are a true frugal ozbargainer then all the fancy European choices which will cost a fortune to maintain should be instantly ruled out. Just because you can afford to buy one doesn’t mean you should (unless $50k is your pocket money and your house is paid off and you have no debts in which case go wild!).
$50k is enough to buy 2 decent small cars (think Corolla, Mazda 3, i30s etc) or 1.5 decent SUVs (thinking Rav 4, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage) so you should have some change left over!
