  • How are the vegetable dumplings?

    • +6

anything with 1000mg sodium tastes so good

      • Haha sure does

      • It's looking more and more like sodium at moderate levels is not a health risk.

        • -2

          Made in Vietnam.

        • Problem is, there's way too much sodium in everything. Especially in health foods where so much salt is added for 'flavour.' I'm definitely consuming way over the daily recommended sodium intake of 2300mg despite not eating unhealthy. People will definitely be consuming more and more sodium as time goes on (not by choice)

Not to my taste, or anyone in the family. We threw them away.

    • +1

Really bad. Served them at a party recently and no one touched them.

  • It’s about time they brought back the vegetable ones!!!!

    • +1

Oh **** it contains eggs 😣

      • I think this might just be an allergy precaution.
I was under the impression they were vegan but its hard when they list the ingredients and dont distinguish between the actual ingredients and the allergy warnings

      • Filling (60%): Bok Choy (41.67%), Cabbage, Carrot, Mushroom, Fungus, Soy Bean Oil, Sugar, Sesame Oil, Salt, Ginger, Onion, White Pepper, Water

Pastry (40%): Wheat Flour, Salt, Soy Bean Oil, Water

CONTAINS GLUTEN, EGGS, SOY and SESAME. MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF NUTS

Just an allergy warning, your all good :)

Why isnt it just called Mr Chen's dumplings? Why does he bring his family into it?

    • +2

it may be because of the size "family pack", but i can finish one of these by myself so idk heheh

  • +3

    All made in Vietnam now.

    • Where was it made previously?

      • +2

You may find some new Chen's products in small package are made in AU. Most if not all of old products were indeed made in AU before. I guess once the products are popular and sell well, they are getting outsourced to Vietnam. In other words, "Made in AU" prodcuts are at market-testing stage.

eg. Mr Chens Gluten Free Pork Dumpling 300g

Dont eat any food made in vietnam or china.

    • +1

      Never visit vietnam or china

      • vietnam is one of my fav places to travel to in asia.

why do you say never visit?

have you ever been there before yourself?

    • Why?

      • -1

Dont get me wrong, Im Vietnamese, I love Vietnam and I know whats good or bad. LoL at the downnvotes.

  • I must say I find Mr Chen's pretty tasty!

I bought a bunch in the last half price run.

Har Gow and Prawn Haw Cheung was pretty yum!

  • There better be a real Mr Chen making these

  • -3

These are way worse than KB's - from my 9 year old.

  • I think the vegetation one are are pretty good.
The small packs have way too much packaging so I avoid them for that reason.
As other have said the Kbs Prawn Gyoza are excellent. Bit pricey at $21

    BTW I steam not boil
