  The PS3 can play 3D movies, but in doing so, you loose your HD Audio.

    sony wont take away something that will enhance thier machines, they are only interested in making sure you cant exploit thier machines for something else they dont want you doing, you will be fine, and if your really interested, google the updates for more information on what each update does (there are a plethora on forums that discuss it lol)
