That's cheap for shortcut bacon. I usually buy shortcut over the middle bacon. Usually works out cheaper by the time you cut off the rind and excess fat. I did the maths before (by weighing middle bacon before and after cutting off the rind/fat) and it was something like 30% (weight) that was chucked out.
