Just putting it out there that vegemite spread on a dry weetbix is a delicious snack.

And before Scab asks. Yes Nutella as well!

    • honey here. the weetbix is a bit fat so I try to slice in half, when they crumble, I end up eating honey and weetbix with a spoon (with my fingers actually - but it's really messy)

      Vitabrits however is not

      • That's because it's a common French name.

In the same week that Moss used 'Tnetennba' in IT crowd.

  • Awesome got one for me and one for my boy!

Sadly, my surname "Scunthorpe" is too many letters. Also possibly banned. :(

    junk from jesus.

common internet con "free item just pay for shipping"

Your $10 is paying for the bowl and the shipping, nothing free here and not a bargain.

    • -1

      agreed,

Sanitarium must need a $ boost for their upper management and hey presto!

    • +1

You are paying to have a personalized bowl delivered to you.

$10 for a personalized bowl, delivered, seems reasonable to me.

      • Welcome to Oz reasonable !

Would it be violating the natural law to use this for Aldi Wheat Biscuits?

Probably, But I’ll be doing it!

Wife is gonna kill me for ordering the two… :S

    • For spending 20 bucks on 2 bowls or for all the other useless shit you buy on ozbargain as well? :P

      • +14

He put his girlfriends name on the 2nd bowl.

        • He put his wifes name on one bowl and dogs name in the other.

    • Bowl-bra.

Really don't know how this got so many upvotes and front page tbh.
We can get cups with photo/photos or our choosing and our name on it for $5 on sale regularly.
Maybe snapfish or some other similar company does some personalized bowls, if that is what you are after.
A good gimmick for kids, if wheatbix are healthy these days ? Could help encourage kids to eat their weet-bix with bowl with name, and weet-bix advertising on it.
Otherwise, $10 for a bowl, advertising their product, and with the only personalization being a name, seems like not a great deal IMO.
check if it is dishwasher safe also, if the family uses dishwasher.. I was going to gift something to nephews, and was told not to when parents found it was not dishwasher safe, I guess busy families with kids don't have time to seperate and hand wash

    • +1

Harvey Norman photo mugs are $5 atm.

    • +3

      tl;dr

    • I'm quite interested in alternatives since they don't accept my name. Do you have any links?

      • $5 personalized photo mug here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/408828

And all the large stores that do photo prints, generally have a massive range of personalized items available for purchase. They dont need to make them all in store, but you can usually order online or in store and pick up on store once it has been made off site somewhere. Everything from calendars of all shapes and sizes, to pens, to fridge magnets, coasters, beer holder/coolers, mugs, tshirts, and probably bowls too.
Snapfish I think is Big-W. Also Kmart do similar, harvey norman, office works, target probably, they all have a massive range of personalised gifts you make up with any image you want and name, they just don't make alot 'in-store' they must have factory etc somewhere its all done at.

        • I've seen the cup before but it's not the same and you can't exactly eat cereal out of it. Checked the site and it doesn't seem to have any bowls. Can you find any?

  • 10 weeks for delivery??????????

    • +2

Sadly, the postie ain't had his weet-bix :(

  • +1

I'd prefer not to support Sanitarium.

    • +1

Their factory smells nice :) But yes, it is 7th day adventist. Weet-bix factory is actually at 1 of their colleges in morriset. A nice walk through there, especially the famous 'swinging bridge' and surrounding bushwalk.

    • +1

      Why not?

      • +3

As an organisation that operates as a charity, Sanitarium is exempt from company income tax. It pays other taxes that apply to Australian companies. For more information about the Charity Sector and taxation please visit www.acnc.gov.au

All of Sanitarium’s profits are transferred to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia which in turn operates charitable activities which include educational and health services and community programs to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Seems like some brands are not blacklisted https://i.imgur.com/FvafqSw

  • +3

You’d think after 90 years of weetbix, they’d have earned enough profits to celebrate the occasion by, say, giving a free bowl for every two boxes purchased?

    • Gotta wait for the 100 year anniversary for those kind of profits!

      • Surprisingly, the reminder function on this page allowed me to add one for October 2028.

  • Does Bixbydbec work I wonder?

    • Bix Beiderbecke?

  • Does it allow profanity?

Did you expect someone from Sanitarium to nicely print your name on a bowl and then put it in a package and print out your name and address and post it to you?

      • If I tell you my mobile number I don't want you to tell everybody.

I'm a little surprised that a $10 promotional bowl is getting so many upvotes. Are cast iron bowls that good?

    • -1

      they're hideous, that's why I downvoted.

What's up with this wording. My wife's name Alyssa is not valid….lol wtf.

      Anniversary coming up? Birthday maybe?

      • +1

Perhaps already planning for a very special Valentine's Day, 2019.

  • +6

    Garbage, they're Tin/Iron/ whatever,
you can't microwave it and warm up the milk and given it's for kids - you'd think the marketing department knows better!

    @ $10 way over-priced for a camping bowl,
    here: https://www.bcf.com.au/p/16cm-enamel-bowl/321153.html?cgid=B…

And you can tell the whole "Free..but you pay for postage is BS" because when you order 2, you pay $20

    • +1

Free..but you pay for postage is BS

No one used the word “free”. Not even on their website

      • +6

        You must have skipped school:

What does this sentence mean to you:

To celebrate 90 years of weet bix get your self a Weet bix bowl with your name on it. Only have to pay $10 for delivery.

Im sick of being down-voted by illiterates.

        • -5

Cheers mate, it was late at night and was in a rush to type it out. And knew some legend would fix it up. But no didn’t skip school, was able to finish vce and get a adv diploma. Unfortunately English wasn’t my strong point. But hey you keep doing what you do and put people down to make your self feel better with your life. Probably lots of errors in this sentence you can go ahead and correct it. I won’t look at your reply if you do. But we all know it will make you feel better. Can be your little win for the day.

          • +5

@ltwinter: Unless you're also Lizard Spock, frostman wasn't talking to you at all. He was making a point to the other poster, and did not say anything about your English language skills.

          • @ltwinter: WTF I didn't need to know your educational background, neither did I attack your grammar.

I'm making a point that the underlying message is that the bowl is Free and we just pay for postage @ $10.
However, upon scrutiny it's not free as they can charge you $40 for 4.

            • +5

@frostman: Well shit don’t i look like a dick now. Apologies only saw your comment. Down voted my own comment

              • @ltwinter:

                Down voted my own comment

LOL. I didn't even know that was possible. We learn something new every day. :-)

                Here, have an upvote.

            • @frostman:

…upon scrutiny it's not free as they can charge you $40 for 4.

Did you scrutinise that they're all shipped separately regardless of quantity ordered?

        • +1

Someone’s on the spectrum. I just said no one said the word “free”, which I’m still right, it may imply free bowl but not once is it sated free

    • I don't understand why people are downvoting you.

      • +1

        Yeah NFI too.

I'm all up for promotions, but scams like this need to be flagged.

The bowl material is barely catered for the home use, seriously "Cast Iron with Enamel Coating"?
When have you ever had a bowl of milk out of a tin/iron bowl except camping?

        • Almost sounds like something they would use in the 1930s.

        • I'm all up for promotions, but scams like this need to be flagged.

I agree. I can't downvote it though, as my account isn't old enough. :-)

          • @aussieolfaction: Around 2 years ago; [https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/246396] Nescafe ran a REAL promotion.
You fill in a Survey and you get a Free Nescafe USEABLE Mug, yes USEABLE.
You place hot boiling water in it and few spoons of coffee, you can whack it in the Microwave, or shove it in the Dishwasher.
            It's real.

Not this stinking pile of metal and enamel coated garbage.
Perhaps Sanitarium bought a container worth of useless tin and thought they'll offload it for $10 when it was costing them 2cents a sheet.

            • @frostman: Maybe u can use 'said' mug to microwave the milk, then pour it over ur weet-bix

              Voila - Problem solved…!

            • +1

@frostman: Only babies need their drinks heated in the microwave - real men drink it cold or heated over an open flame.

              • @dm01:

Only babies need their drinks heated in the microwave - real men drink it cold or heated over an open flame.

Yeah but I doubt real men worry about having their names printed on their bowl

How dare you bring logic into this discussion! :-)

      • You never know …

  • Hopefully they are bigger than the picture suggests, as it looks to only hold 2 weetbix.
Still, $10 for a pannikin bowl isn't too bad.

    • From the FAQ: bowl is 16.3 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height

      • +4

those dimensions will have her pannikin ;)

        • +1

          giggity

  • +1

Disappointing we live in an age where a bowl with your name on it is offensive to some people.

    • Go ahead, tell us more. :)

    • Some ppl have way too much time on their hands.. Nothing better to do than neg, neg, neg..!

  • +2

This is not a bargain but I bought two

  • This doesn’t seem to ship to Victoria…
    Absolute rort.
I lost my other weetbix bowl that had all the AFL team logos on there.
    Best bowl ever.

  • -4

how many weetbix fit in the bowl?

    • Wow, what a valid reason for negging.

  • +1

I don't understand why this has 167+ votes it's $10 for a bowl that has your name on it and takes 10 weeks to arrive how is this a good deal?

    • +1

I like it because I love weetbix haha

    • thats just fd

  • +4

    Thanks OP!!!

My little niece has had Weet Bix for almost every breakfast since she could eat solid food. By age 9 we’d calculated that she’d eaten approximately a large dual door fridge size worth of them.

You’ve made my day & the smile on her face when she gets it will be a mile wide.

    :-)

    • I've ordered one for my niece too.

  • Anyone know how many Weet-Bix you can get to a bowl?
