Google Pixel 2 XL - RMA Unknown Shipment Time

Hi ozbargain,

I have sent over my pixel 2 xl for replacement through Google (sent to their Hong Kong depot) which arrived at their warehouse on the 9/10 confirmed by Toll. Reading on horror stories of people's RMA experiences, I decide to contact support to check on updates for shipment as they have confirmed that the phone was received. Fast forward to 15/10 they have still not shipped the phone to me after 5 interactions with their support tech. What course can I take to escalate or ensure this goes through without anymore headaches. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Out of curiosity what issue did you have with your GP2XL?

    When I did an RMA I think I had mine collected from my home with Toll and then received my replacement within about 3-4 weeks. I did have to chat with them once when I saw mine had been delivered to them so they would send my replacement.

    • I returned it due to GPS issues where it would never maintain accuracy within the Google maps app. Tried rebooting, factory resetting, safe mode yet still had issues. Also couldn't replicate these issues of my older android phone.

      Edit: maybe I'm just being impatient but they did confirm that shipment had been processed on 10/10 so I assumed they just had to load it up with their carrier, was also promised 5-10 business days after sending off my phone :/

      • Does your phone need to be assessed before they can send you a new one ?

        • they have mentioned on every interaction that 'shipment has been processed'. It's possible they may still need to assess it, but going by what they say, it doesn't seem like it

    • A month to have a phone warranty issue fixed? That’s appalling from such a huge company.
