Kambrook 5 Fin Oil Column Heater, 11 Fin Oil Heater, Radiant Heater $20 Each @ Big W

310

Long time lurker first time poster, sharing the love! I don't know how to upload pictures, but I have proof to verify stock levels and pricing. I can only upload one pic, so the Onix one is missing

Was after a power adapter, and ended up buying a heater - went to my local BigW at Ringwood and they confirmed this is a national clearance deal, so won't know stock unless you go into the store to ask.

  • ONIX Flame Effect Electric Heater - Was $59, now $20
  • KAMBROOK Radiant Heater - Was $69, now $20
  • KAMBROOK 5 Fin Oil Column Heater - Was $69, now $20
  • KAMBROOK 11 Fin Oil Column Heater - Was $99, now $20

Wow. These really are cheap, Delonghi 2400w oil heaters typically start at $150.
    Nothing wrong with Kambrook either.

    • I remember reading reviews about heaters and the fin style oil column were a lot more energy efficient than radiant heaters, I think convection was next, but they were more expensive, so with the benefits and trade off, the oil column were the winners

      • Anyone know how the efficiency compares to a split system/reverse cycle on heat mode?

        • really bad compare to split system.

        • Aircon type heaters are the most efficient. Usy up to 3x more efficient.

          • @krisspy: Really? Do you have a source on that?

I've mostly read that aircon heating is the worst.

            • @compound: Airconditioning for heating is typically 300% efficient but can be a little higher even assuming the unit is not underpowered for the space.

The reason is it's a so called heat pump (moves energy from one area to another) rather than directly using the input energy to heat up the room like this heater does (and these cannot be more than 100% efficient).

      • you mean it auto turn off by thermostat while continue to produce heat longer thus saving electricity ?

        if not, it sucks 2400watt

      • The Nkambrook convection heaters are also clearance for $20 each both the 2400 kW and the 2000 kW

  • AND THEY COME IN BLACK!

    • The black ones are bigger. Just in time for summer.

  • I love heating these up and throwing a blanket over them. Keeps me warm for hours while only turn g it on for 10mins.

      wouldn't it burn …

      • Probably would. But I only turn it on to the point it's warm..like I can keep my hands on it warm. I never turn it on with the quilt over

    • I bet the residents in your nursing home are so jealous.

    • Haha i did exactly the same, also just toss some clothes on it until dry

If you don’t mind storing this for next year’s winter

  • Nice pickup, but I'm not sure this is nationwide as the local store has the 11 fin one for 50% off which is $49 something.

Typically they are off the website, so there is no way to be sure.

  • Can confirm there are still at least 6 of the radiant heaters left st eastland (vic) store.

  • Heaps of Radiant Heaters and Onix Flame ones at Karingal Vic.

Few single bed fitted electric blankets for $10.

    Nothing at Parkmore Vic.

  • Got one. About 7 left @Epping plaza. Shelf price is $34 but scanned for $20. Thanks OP.

  • Still heaps left of the 5 fin model @ Liverpool.
