Credit Card to Link to ANZ Breakfree Package + Promo Sign up Bonus

Hi all, apologies in advance if this has been covered somewhere already but I had a look and couldn't find this question specifically.

I'm after a CC with a sign up bonus of QFF points. Last card was the ANZ rewards black over 12 months ago so I could get again but at the time of sign up there was a $0 annual fee promo. Hence I'm looking for something similar, no annual fee but huge sign up bonus.

Only concern is that I have a Home Loan with ANZ and the ANZ Breakfree package. This package entitles me to link a CC to my home loan and the have annual fee waived. If I do this I forfeit any promo's of sign up bonus etc.

Is anyone in this situation and what have you done? Forgone the sign up bonus just to waive the annual fee? Or should I get 2 cards possibly?

    I signed up for Qantas Black as part of Breakfree package few years ago. It was having promo of 75k points however I only received annual fee waiver.

    I have mortgage offset account with NAB comes with free annual fee cc but I didn't take it. Later there was promo for new cc customer with bonus points but with annual fee. So I applied and call the mortgage team to ask if I can link that card to my mortgage so the card will have no annual fee. They said ok. And I still get the promo points

      This. I think you have to make sure that you sign up and intend to pay the annual fee. Then ring up at a later date and use whatever scheme/promo that gives you the free annual fee and get it reimbursed.

      Upgraded my card from platinum to signature when it came out and they gave me the bonus points even though I had the NAB package.

      But each bank has different rules.

    If you have a ANZ savings account, you can apply through the portal for $0 annual fee and still get the sign on bonuses.

    Oh wow I never tried using the apply feature within the online banking portal! There it is there no annual fee, same sign up bonus. Thanks so much guys!

    Anyone done this lately? Does it still work?

    i.e. apply for the points promo > pay the annual fee > call up at a later date to link to breakfree package > get reimbursed annual fee?
