  How does one keep such stainless steel bottles clean? They're almost impossible to scrub due to the size of the opening.

    Or just add full of boiling H2O into the stainless bottle, cover the lid then shake it for a few times.

      Becareful with boiling water, the pressure inside will build up when you shake. ;)

    I have a couple of Klean Kanteen bottles that I've been using for years. The mouth on those is quite wide and I just happen to have a cleaning brush in my kitchen that with some convincing will fit through the mouth of the bottle and is just about the exact right width to clean the inside of the bottle. Then I clean the lid and spout with hot soapy water.

    Those bottles will go through the dishwasher but I found my dishwasher left more gunk in them than they had when they went in.

    Keep any water bottle clean is an issue though, not just stainless steel.

  Kmart 7.50, double insulated… Do not buy unless they are double insulated…(20 everywhere else we looked)

  We traveled around Australia, scorching heat they easily held the cool all day… My single walled bottle couldn't hold it for more than an hour or so…

          @suburbanmale: I'm 99% sure this will be doubled wall because it looks exactly the same as 3 Avanti bottles I got from Peter's of Kensington for $12 each. Amazingly there is a different brand in Peter's of Kensington selling the exact same bottle for $49. Never having labels or branding on. It's basically a load of companies selling the same white label Chinese produced bottles.

          So this is a great deal.

            I wouldn't say great deal. It's only saving $2 compared to the everyday kmart price. You'd spend more in fuel going out of your way to buy.

            @C0mbat: and the double walled ones that sit next to the single walled ones look exactly the same at coles too (or was it wollies)… looks don't mean anything. At this price i'm pretty confident it will be single walled… that said wife bought the extra dual walled one at kmart for 5 bux…bargain.

  The only dumb thing about these double walled insulated bottles sold in all shops is the colour! Most colour ways are hideous, save a few nicer ones. If the outside is plain brushed SS which is cheaper to make, the same as the lid, they can be washed in dishwasher and looks new again. I need a practical bottle, not a decor which does the opposite.
