Not sure whether anyone has had any experience with AHG Roadside Assist?
When you get a car serviced with the AHG group around Australia, they give you six months of free roadside assistance with their AHG Roadside assist. Question is whether anyone has broken down and had to call them up? Were they responsive? Was there any catches? In WA, the default provider for roadside assistance is RAC but if AHG's service is good enough, maybe you can save some money getting your car serviced and have roadside assistance thrown in.
I stand to be corrected here but I believe that many of these free roadside assistance schemes just use the local state auto club such as the RACSA, RACQ, RACV, NRMA. About 10 years back my 3 day old Ford went legs up when in the country about 100km from home. I called the Ford Assist and the local RACV guy showed up.
This offering by the AHG group is just to keep you coming back to get your car serviced. They offer a similar thing on my KIA. They also offered me a "free" warranty extension on my existing 7 year warranty offered by KIA. After reading the terms and conditions it has so many exclusions and limitations that you would be crazy to rely on it. One of the terms is that you must keep coming back to the selling dealer to get your car serviced from day 1.
