Saw these while shopping at Harvey Norman Alexandria. $15 is cheap for a Telstra branded Cordless Phone. From the picture on the box it has an LCD for Caller ID etc.
It would cost you more to replace just the batteries on most other phones :)

Wait, is that sarcasm?
no, honesty.. they DO have a good reputation…
Um, sure.
Honestly they don't from what I've heard.
Telstra make the best phones. That's why businesses use them, and still have them 30 years on.
i think i got mine last time for $19 then a $10 cash back offer that has ended now.
Err, I bought them a few weeks ago for $19, considering to buy another as it's an ok handset for this price.
Is this just a base station handset? Or can you purchase multiple handsets and use some as extensions?
Does anyone know if other HN stores will be willing to match this clearance item?!
Yeah I'm wondering this too. You can never have too many phones!
Did anyone else notice the spelling mistake on the sign? Lol corldless.
They have come down in price alot in Australia. Back in 2003, after returning from a US trip, I did a comparison on prices. I saw a Uniden 900 mhz cordless phone advertised for $9.88 at Brandsmart USA in Florida, which at the time was equivalent to about $13 AUD. The (roughly) equivalent phone here in Australia retailed for approx. $88 - nearly 7 times the price! I was shocked. While it's somewhat of a relief that we have caught up to where the Yanks were 8 years ago, it's still much much too late. :(
FYI: on that same trip, Panasonic DVD players were selling for US$88.88 ($299 here in Australia at the time). The biggest shocker was a 47" Panasonic HDTV RPTV, which was US$888. Guess how much here in Aus? $6,300. No joke.
Telstra phones have a good reputation.
