    delivery=$40

    • Large size object = big delivery fee.

      • still double the price for Perth at $85, but if i changed to a even larger tv the 58" it was only $59, i think kogan just upped the delivery fee on this specific model during the sale

        • So you suspect a money grab on the delivery fee.

      • Large size object = big delivery fee.

When Tightarse orders things he gets free shipping.

        • +1

Think about the amount of works Tightarse has done for the ozbargain community. He deserves the basic free shipping offer IMO.

  • +1

thats a ripper of a price.

    • +2

It's Forskin, he's always cutting things.

  • It says it has HDR10 as well?!

    • Is this a question?

      Can't see HDR10.

      • Can’t see it too

        • +1

According to the spec sheet… it says HDR 10.

        • +1

Yeah, Specifications tab on the linked page says:

          Performance
          GPU ARM Multi-Core Mali GPU
          HDR Format HDR 10
          RAM 1GB
          Storage Capacity 4GB

@pizzaguy: I just got mine refunded, "Please note, HDR support is currently not available for gaming." kinda scared me off then I asked Support about it as I'm going to use it with my PS4 Pro and got this

"I can confirm that this TV has an HDR10 feature. However, its not applicable for gaming consoles set up."

A feature…hmm I asked them to be more precise about the feature and how would it function if I plugged in a HDR bluray player and got this

"As the HDR10 feature is already built in to the TV, you will no longer require a Blueray player with HDR10 to achieve a HDR10 quality >picture. You can just connect a regular Blueray player and get a HDR10 image quality.

Blueray player with HDR10 feature is recommend to 4K resolution TVs that does not have an HDR10 feature, so that it can improve the image >quality of the TV.

If you are going to use a Blueray player with HDR10 to a TV that already has HDR10 feature, it will only result the same image quality or >you will not see improvements on quality of the image on the TV."

So its safe to assume this doesn't have HDR10.

  • This is absolutely a counter to THIS

    fight fight fight

    • Can you return the Kogan one in case you don't like it?

(Even if you can, return postage cost will be more than Aldi's TV itself)

  • delivery is $85 for Perth, should i just stick with the 1 year warranty or should i fork out the extra $64 for 3 years, i wonder is that 3 years on top of the standard 1

    • See if you can get free delivery with Shipster

      • Nope, maximum shipping cost of $20 with Shipster.

Kogan "Smart" systems are shit FYI. Last Kogan Smart TV i bought takes > 1min to fully boot before you can actually do anything with the TV.

Latest Kogan NON smart i got how ever was great. Colour is good, never missed a beat.

    • Found the same with Soniq, although not as bad (about 30 sec).

    • +1

Lol @ over 1min to boot.

    • +3

I'd pay extra to avoid the slow SMART TV interface

      Dumb TV all the way

      • +1

Agree, even if the smart function was OK at purchase time, you can bet they won’t update the software too many times. Better off a dumb TV and buy a little puck like an ATV or an Nvidia Shield. They will get regular updates for years.

  • don't forget free shipping with shipster

….. or does that not apply?

    • +1

shipping cost is too high for it

  • oh well by the time i went to shipters and made a account came back and kogan had sold out and removed it from my cart

  • +1

ANNNNNNNNNND its gone. didnt end up getting cause no free shipping via shipster…… one day ill find use for the 12 month trial :)

  • Yeah already sold out.

  • Missed out this time, but can anyone comment on the picture quality of this TV?
Was too busy researching instead of impulse buying!

    • Same, Damn :(

    • Probs not too bad, they use LG panel

  • +2

yeah they also seem to have jacked up the delivery fee on this specific model as when i go though to delivery on a larger 58" its $20 cheaper shipping then this model was and no free shipping option with shipster, what is the point if shipster says they offer free shipping with a company and then company says no.

    • It says right there on Shipster that it applies to orders over $25 with a delivery fee under $20.

  • +6

I'm glad it sold out early. The temptation's gone. I really did not need another TV.

  • +3

haha funny how I received the e-mail about this deal from Kogan after it's already SOLD out

    • same here did not get a chance. it could be bait advertising

  • +1

Well, I hope someone who got one will leave a review when they get it. I've been curious about Kogan smart TVs for awhile.

Always iffy about buying a TV without seeing it in person.

    • +1

      Plenty of reviews floating about

I bought the 55” curled 4K a while ago and love it. Very decent quality, sound is average but got speakers hooked up to it

      • +1

        55” curled 4K

        How curly was it?

        • +1

          Curly
          Like a wurly

  • Ozbargained before you could say Ozbargain!

  • I couldn't give a rats about smarts. I just need a cheap TV around 60" which has good picture quality and boots quick.

    Any recommendations?

    • +2

Yeah you probably don't need a Smart TV any way if say you already have an Android TV box, Google Home, Apple TV, PS4 or Xbox One.

    • "Good picture quality"

      What does that mean?

      • LCD tech sucks ass. You need to be getting mid-range TVs in order to get an actually okay panel/backlight to begin with/
      • Picture quality from high quality sources like blurry is HIGHLY dependant on a mixture of image processing and features.
      • Then you have HDR, which in order to be great needs super good quality panel, full array backlighting, 10-bit panel; or ideally OLED

So long story short, you should just want a big cheap TV. Picture quality doesn't even come into the equation.

  • I only just received an email from Kogan about this: hours after they'd sold out - not that I want a smart TV, though.

I'm having to look for a new TV, but dumb TV is fine as have an Android Media player

  • Would this be slightly too big for a master bedroom. Our room is 3.83.1 but with the built-in its more like 3.33.1

  • +4

I managed to grab one. Will post about picture quality & response time once it arrives if anyone wants me to

    • yes please do!!!

    • Yes please!

    • please

    • Any updates on quality?

  • its back online at higher price…just wondering which version is the higher spec:

    this 55 inch or the 58 inch….

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-58-smart-hdr-4k-led-tv-se…

    • the 58" has a higher peak brightness of 300nits where as this 55" only has peak brightness of 250nits, which is really terrible if you actually want to view HDR content how its meant to be seen,

even when HDR was a new thing on cheaper models like the hisence or TLC models you were at least getting a minimum of 400nits, i am actually kinda glad i didn't get the kogan now after looking at its terrible specs advertising it as HDR 4k is abit bullshit sure it will accept a 4k HDR signal in 10bit but its not going to display it how it should look.

  • Even at the original price, this TV is cheaper than the model being sold on Aldi.

Hopefully the one from Aldi is a better build than this one hence the slightly higher price.

Is this a new model that just came out?
