  • It's a shame they are so damn expensive in the first place. If you want a pair of Ray Ban prescription sunglasses you're looking at $400 just for the lenses and then the $200-350 on top of that for the frames.

Where are you can get 2 pairs with some pretty good frames and brands in Specsavers at less than half that price.

    • thanks for the heads-up. these are for the genuine RB lenses, right?
i got a pair of wayfarers from catch for $117 after discounts. was thinking of swapping out the lenses for rx ones i.e. polarised, G-15, single vision

      • Yep, the genuine rb lenses via OPSM. It's not worth it for me as my prescription is very light so I don't really need them.

        • i went in for an eye test today. my prescription for one eye is +4.50 which they said makes the RB lenses out of question since they only did up to +4.0. also for prescriptions that high, no green lenses either; just grey polarised.

          OPSM's own brand lens cost was $530, less 106 discount = $424

i also went for a new set of frames, since i couldn't get prescription lenses made out of glass and i wanted to keep and wear my current ones as is. so RB2132 new Wayfarers since they didn't sell the original style. $148 after discount

          total was $572. tl;dr being short-sighted ain't cheap.

What are you talking about $400 for lenses? RB prescription sun lenses are $190 for non polarised and $290 for polarised in the standard green or brown lenses.
With the 20% off that's $300 for a set of wayfarers.

  • i was shopping for toric contact lenses and www.quicklens.com.au still seems to have a better price.
