Advice on Refurbished/Overseas Samsung products from Ebay?

This is a bit far fetched but the goal is to find a samsung s8 or lg v30 for between 400-500 brand new.
Period, I cannot find anything for that price point that is either refurbushed or doesn't support the Australian network, such as these three models:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sealed-in-Box-LG-V30-H931-64GB-P… (Lg v30, does not support Australian bands)
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Sealed-Factory-Unlocked-LG-G… (Lg G6, does not support Australia's bands)
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-64GB-SM-G950-U… (Samsung S8-Third Party Refurbished)
I am concerned over third-party refurbished models due to battery qualities, waterproofing of phone(no longer ip68 once opened), and of course warranty. If anyone has experiences with refurbished products, please share your thoughts with me!
Note: I found refurbished Lg g6 32GB for under 250 AUD in Ali-express but have read horror negative reviews of shipping and delivery.
Thanks for your time!

I'm sorry OP but you're wanting something for nothing. You're not going to find a brand new phone for that price.

    • I don't mind paying for a refurbished product as long as i can trust that it will last for more than 2 years.

I'm not aware of any seller of any refurbished product (not just phones) that would offer the same warranty length as brand new product. You need to lower your expectations and buy a brand new mid-range phone.

        • point noted, i'm considering bidding used products.

          • @wizard of weed: But then you have no warranty at all. Why not buy the Samsung A5, brand new is $499.

            • @zoombie: I'm a heavy gamer but also take lots of photos, the A8 has weak processor but then again there is the poco-phone. Might save up more since i like samsung's display. Trying to find used as im willing to forgo warranty as i'd rather own something i like rather than have compramises :(
However, i do understand my expectations are too high.

Refurbished phones can mean a lot of things. It would be returned stock (second hand): they just give the phone a hard reset, wipe it with some wet paper towel, update the firmware or even flash the firmware with a different ROM to suit the locale they are selling and just call it "refurbished".

it would be rare to see a phone store refurbish a phone by replacing it's worn out battery or give it a new LCD replacement — genuine replacement parts can cost a lot too.

Refurbished Phones by Apple would be another thing: they actually replace broken or worn out parts.

      "Warranty claim denied: water damage."

Suitable for use in Aus. So far not many refurb or used units for sale.

Give that one a look. I was personally considering buying it, but changed my mind and am waiting for the s9 to drop to the same ish price.

p5off likely doesn't drop it below $500, but pretty close. If you have any decent coupons (I had a 20% off up to $50, so woulda been $499) you should be able to get it under.

*Double check to make sure it suits you though. I haven't rechecked it, just went for the one I was personally looking at.

Seller appears to be well regarded, so unlikely it's a scam.

Wasn't aware s8's had models that wouldn't work in Aus? though I run off the Telstra 4g band.
