What's The Minimum Cents Spend to Trigger a Reward Point?

I am inspired by people discussing this kind of 2 cents saving.

Have you ever thought that what's the minimum cents spend to trigger a reward point?

For example,I think in order to earn 1 flybuys points, you need to spend minimum 96 cents, but 95 cents will disqualify the point.

$55.95 spend will round down to 55 points while $55.96 spend will round up to 56 points.

In my experience, Woolworths points and Velocity points seem more likely to round up when dealing with cents.

Free to discuss any reward points.

Thanks!

I do not have the time to get into how to get one single point.

I just incorporate the credit card into my normal spend and let the points flow through organically.

All this additional analysis requires a lot of work for very few points.

    • That's the point majority people have.I cannot disagree as I did not do full research, either.

$55.95 spend was for a EFTPOS/Only1 card in Coles in the past and did not generate 56 pts, hence the topic is born.

  • You know you've got too much time on your hands when you get down to working out how to get single-digit points!

    • It can be handy when you can set the amount,eg. Wish eGC's denomination.

For some AMEX cards enrolled in the QFF program, any amount between $0.50 and $0.99 will be rounded to the next dollar.
So if your card earns one point per dollar, $2.00 will earn 2 points and so will $1.50 or $1.90.
For a $2.00 purchase on a 1 point/dollar card, you could split your payment into four lots of $0.50 and earn four QFF points.
Alternatively you could split into three $0.50 transactions and one $0.48 transaction, hence netting you a saving of 2c and earning 3 points.

I may or may not have done or continue to do this.

    • Don't they just base it off the dollar spend at the end of the statement period rather than each transaction?

Man I’m cheap but if I found 5 cents on the ground I wouldn’t picky it up.

1 point is worth less than a booger from your nose.

    • More coins for me then.

      All adds up.

      • you would waste more in energy picking it up, and wear and tear on your knees.

        plus probly been pissed on

would you really pick up 5c

        • I believe the 5 cents I just picked up took less energy than your posts.

My knees need not touch the ground when I do so.

I do wash my hands regularly.

          • @twww: i got paid to do these posts, did not need to move my aging knees or back, and i am 99% certain my keyboard is not covered in anyones urine or jizz other than my own

            • @Donaldhump: And you're certain the loose change in your pocket was not touched by the same dirty hands that peed/jizzed on the coinage that I'll gladly pick up…

              • @twww: Never have loose change, use card for everything

        • knees don't have a finite amount of bends in them and once you exceed the limit you have to get surgery or something.
in fact the exercise of bending over may do some people good.
I picked up $0.15 that i found on th e ground last week.

  • At Woolworths spend $2,000, get $10 back, a huge saving of 0.5%.

    • According to Woolworth Rewards clause 3 e), all Points earned will be rounded up to the nearest even number of Points.

I checked all my transactions and found points were always awarded in even numbers, unlike others reward points system that can award odd number points.

So if you spend exact $1, I am pretty sure you could earn 2 points.

  • off topic question does the velocity card thing cost any money annually to maintain or any criteria conditions.. i still haven't tried mainly because it is not worth the extra points to me personally.. aka the rewards are terrible and i don't feel like accumulating unnecessary crap atm
