network unlocked + quad band

      OP, how cheap is cheap? Under $100 or $200?

      My personal recommendation: Nokia E63 or Nokia E71 (may be hard to source unlocked, so might have to try eBay).
      They are great, sturdy phones with very long battery life and good call quality. They also run Symbian OS, not exactly the greatest OS but at least it's a smartphone.

      The E63 has a 3.5 mm audio jack, while the E71 has a 2.5mm audio jack that requires an adapter to fit normal headphones.
