  Genuine question since you're posting on a public forum website.

  So are they fair trade or encompass any of that to justify the premium price for a sarong?

  How much profit money is going back into the people and community if there's any?

  I am seeing the ethical business category pop up now as people move away from sweatshop manufacturing and it would be good to know how much ends up in the pockets of the people that make it.

    Fair question and I'm happy to answer it.

    We produce in Bali (I'm half Balinese) and when I first began looking into production i was really concerned about the work conditions and wages here (sweatshop style).

    This is why I co-own my production house now. Our staff get paid 2 - 3 times the average wage, our 25 staff all have health insurance and have all been with us from the very beginning ( not one employee has left, we have just grown in size)

    We have a premium price, as we offer a premium product, the standard cheap sarong you can get in Bali use cheap colour dyes, and below average materials and hardly last a summer. Our sarongs will last years, will not shrink or colour run.
