Hi OP, is Thor your real name?

    • Hello Scab, this is ThorFire Official Account on Ozbargain. Thanks.

Would love a deal on a zoomable one. Never needed ones with flashing and what have you features.

    • No zoomable flashlight available in ThorFire Amazon AU now. But more lights will be added in the future. Thanks for your comment and we will take that as reference for future products releasing.

Zoomable sounds good in theory, but the efficiency, durability, and usability of the light is sacrificed massively. You are much better off getting a light with a wide range of outputs, so up close (reading at night for example) it can be dim and if you need to see far you just turn it up.

      • Agree, zoomies are junk

I don’t have one of these lights personally but I personally own quite a collection from Thorfire, from their 14500 TG06S to the Q8. Having said that, the TG06S is very bright for its size but costs about the same as these 18650 ones, I would say these 18650 torches will be great to carry around in your pocket or bag due to their small size.

However, if you are looking for a thrower, the C8S is the go to flashlight for size to range ratio. I recently took a C8S and a Q8 to a prawning trip, and the Q8 was just amazing in providing light around you while the C8S making a great lightweight thrower.

  • Where can one find reliable (Not counterfeit) and cheap 18650s in Australia?

    • This guy is my go to and other aussie torch nerds recommend as well. Not the cheapest though.

      • Me too, batteries are hard to get into Aus now it seems

I'm put off by the fact he sells 18650s advertised over 3000mAh or 30CDR…

        • +1

Plenty of batteries available over 3000mAh and a few capable of 30CDR http://budgetlightforum.com/node/52386 https://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Golisi%20IMR18650%202600mAh%20S26%20(Black)%202018%20UK.html

  • How do you decide between the 15 and 15S ? I need something for security work patrol mainly.

      • Thanks. I bought the 15s for the strobe and the tail switch.

        Now the battery and charger.

Can anyone recommend a good battery and charger kit? I could get away with a 2 cell charger and the one battery. Prefer a good brand for battery and charger for longevity.

        • +1

This was the first one I bought. A bit expensive but good quality charger and cells plus protected which is good if you're not used to LiIon charging/handling and you'll have a spare cell for the next torch you buy :) Alternatively, Lanplus have both battery and charger, techaroundyou is another reputable option.
