    I was being facetious.
    
    It's not exactly 9 hours vs 50 minutes either - get to the airport an hour before the flight, sit on the plane for 1.5 hours, then 30 minutes to get out and then another hour to drive and we're at 4 hours.

  You only have to be there 30 minutes before the flight at Avalon. Also parking and security takes about a quarter of the time, there's only 3 gates.
  
  Also some people live on the Western side of Melbourne, hard as that may be to believe.
