Xiaomi Mijia LED Light Motion Sensor US $8.79 (~AU $12.14) @ Joybuy

680

great product I have four or five at home, although I prefer the newer Yee Light as it comes with a battery on board and USB charging. However for $12 delivered I can't find cheaper.
If you don't have one they take AA batteries x3, and stick on the wall. The battery life is good and is reasonable light to light up walkways/stairs when placed at a low level. I have ones in the bathroom, they work well without waking up the house.

These things are amazing for using in the bathroom (a dimmer light that doesn't wake you up during the middle of the night) and for changing the baby during the middle of the night. We have two and have been worth every cent and more.

  • "If you don't have one they take AA batteries x2".
Nah, they take 3 AA batteries mate. I run 3 eneloops in mine and they last forever.

    Bloody love these.
We have a few and the range is great.
You can select low of bright light and I personally prefer the brighter mode. Switch is inside the battery compartment.
I have a couple so I can get out of bed and go to the dunny in the ensuite and back, without having to use any lights.

We have a young one who sometimes wanders at night and they light his path to our room and back if he needs light. I used to have to get up and walk him back in the dark.

    Highly recommend them.

    • How do these stick to a wall/bed ? Does the base have its own glue ? Or Can I stick some velcro ? Or ?

There’s a film on the back covering an adhesive. I prefer to use blue tac as I like to reposition them. Probably should use more blu tac as mine are thrill seekers in summer, often taking adventures down the stairs. ⛷

  • If only they stayed on longer…..or had a setting like the Yee light to toggle "stay lit".

Like you, prefer the Yee but it being on a regular special (or on special at all) seems to be a case of "in days gone by", sadly.

Thanks OP, I'll keep hanging out for the other…..not that this is a bad product, it is good, just the other is better IMHO.

  • Entirely agree with the above positive comments. I bought one of these about 4 months ago. Batteries have yet to be changed. They’re fairly sensitive to movement in the dark and will only light up when it is appropriately dark. The light emitted is a very comfortable glow. Excellent design and well worth the money.

  • Can only buy one at this price as purchasing more increases the price

Do you know how long they take to turn off with no motion?
I am thinking of getting one for a kitchen cupboard so the light comes on when I open it.

It says 15 seconds on the joybuy website if you bothered to click on it.

    • If it's like the yeelight version, it's stays on for 20 seconds after last motion.

Anyone able to compare the brightness of this compared to the yeelight?

      • I have this and yeelight. Yeelight brighter . I like yeelight more as personal choice.

        • I dislike how the yeelight is brighter when turned on, rather than on sensor.
Personally I would have liked a brightness setting. During the night it's fine, but when your eyes aren't attuned to the dark yet, these lights so nothing

  • I've been using one in the corridor and one in the bathroom. After 8 months I still haven't charged my eneloops.
Best thing is body (and light) sensor rather than door movement.

    What's up with the description:

"Xiaomi mijia induction night light,in the dark,in the name of love guardian love, afraid of the black children, old age,at night, there is a good light open, for your love escort"

    • Lol, this product description made me buy another. So random.

    • That description raises so many more questions!

      Chinglish!

  • OP, please update your description, these are not the usb charging night light.

    • Read again

      • They have batteries that are removed and charged. As opposed to these that are self contained and the entire unit gets charged over usb: https://www.joybuy.com/product/600128393.html

        • Yeah, I know. Why are you asking the OP to edit?

          • @John Kimble: Because "battery on board and USB charging" makes it sound like you plug the unit in to recharge it. But you don't. You remove batteries and charge them separately.

            • @Abbi: He is talking about Yeelight. That's why I said to read again.

    Showing as USD9.99 now

    • Deal is over :(

  • Does anyone know a night motion lamp similar to this but with red light? (Bright light suppresses melatonin production)

These are dim and also a warm yellow light, not a cold blue/white light, more like a candle.

Don't laugh but i'm a bit obsessed about lighting during the night as i don't sleep that great the majority of the time; i have one of those cheap toilet rim led lights like this one for $3 set on red, but instead of on the toilet i just have it hanging off a cord on my blinds in the toilet so it activates when i walk in. I also have my yeelight just sitting on a window sill about 30cm away but if you're coming in from sleeping the red light is still just enough to see what you're doing if you only want red light.

Price showing as US$ 9.99. Any coupon?

  • These are fantastic. I have stuck one on each side under my parents' bed so only one lights up as soon as one of them puts their feet on the floor in the middle of the night. Then another one just outside the ensuite bathroom and another one inside. They love these!

  • Where can you get the Yee light from ?
