Somehow I read "paygrade" as "GAYPRIDE" its late amigos.

  • For those who have received this card from last deal, being a mining card in OEM packaging, have you noticed anything different about these cards? eg card locked to settings optimised for mining, anything missing that you would normally expect to be included (other than packaging and back plate)? This is tempting with 10% off site wide + 10% less with gift cards, but wondering if this card essentially operates just like a retail rx570.

Morning, I bought one of the last sale ones last week, As far as I can see, It performs the same as a normal non mining card, only thing I noticed that was different was that when doing benchmarks etc the Benchmark programs only recognize the card as a VGA card, with no specific card details like "Gigabyte Aorus RX 570 OC" etc. On the software side, I installed the Gigabyte Aorus Software and it was all detected correctly and can be OC'd via the application. So far its been great. I upgraded from a prehistoric Nvidia GTX 570 to this one, I've never played games at "Ultra" settings before. its been great!!(i5 7500, 8gb Ram, 1080P)
Also service was fantastic, bought Wednesday, Arrived Thursday with free Express post!

  • Warranty: 3 months ? Is this normal?

    • If you take the chance - I believe that that they cannot void the 'fit for purpose' clause as defined on Checkout - you have every right to expect 'usual' time from a product eg TV etc - and no amount of statements can void this clause.

      From http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-06-07/broken-but-out-of-warr…

One of the key provisions is s54 of the ACL [Australian Consumer Law], which is a statutory guarantee of acceptable quality enforceable against the suppliers of goods (i.e. retailers, dealerships, etc.), as well as manufacturers.

This section of the law requires that goods be fit for the purposes they are commonly used for, acceptable in appearance and finish, free from defects, safe and durable, all according to the standards of a "reasonable consumer".

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's chairman Graeme Samuel says this means that many goods come with a statutory guarantee against the supplier that lasts longer than the manufacturer's warranty.

"Sometimes you'll see manufacturer's warranties that may only be for three, six or 12 months in total, whereas the retailer's guarantee under the consumer guarantees can sometimes extend beyond that, having regard to the nature of the product and its intended use," Mr Samuel told ABC News Online.

  • I wonder if these price drops have anything to do with the rumoured Polaris 30 refresh. I can't imagine there will be a big difference in performance with the new cards, though.

  • It's a great price, and the large 8GB of memory is good to see. But the warranty is sketchy and it might be excluded from this "Raise the Game" AMD Promotion, which are 3 free games Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey, Strange Brigade®, and Star Control®: Origins.
