Need more deals on McCain pizza.

    • Coles has them on special starting this Wednesday - https://www.coles.com.au/catalogues-and-specials/view-all-av…

Yeah they're a tad better than Dr Oetker.

Dr Oetker aren't necessarily bad, but their chocolate pizza is a perfect summary of what type of 'pizza' they sell: https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/663684/dr-…

a perfect summary of what type of 'pizza'

Picking the one dessert pizza in the range that no one has ever seen isn't exactly a good example of the good doctor's typical fare …

      • Which one McCain special? Saw but the price is $5…

    • Yep, both are good in my books, although Dr Oetker's pizzas do not fill me up as much. They are pretty yummy if cooked right. McCain has a lot more topping, but the pizza is always burnt around the edges, when I make it anyway.

      • They're not filled with e numbers either.

    • McCain

Why? The amateur isn’t even a doctor.

Pretty usual bogan pizza mindset; more toppings = better pizza. My pizza experience has been the less toppings the better pizza, a few really good ingredients trumps piles of "pizza ham" and other garbage.

      • +4

People with different tastes to me must be lesser than me, so I will just assume they're bogans.

There is room for more than one style of pizza, take your head out of your ass.

        • -3

I'm not assuming people who like a lot of toppings are bogans, they are bogans.

Go visit pizza shops in poor "bogan" areas, the pizza will be piled with toppings. Now go to a more "affluent" area and visit a pizza shop, there will be less but higher quality toppings.

This is just science mate. No need to be upset over pizza..

        • @deelaroo: What you said is a generalisation. I live in a super wealthy area and the most successful pizza shop in the area (always full with customers) sells pizzas stacked with topics.

Also, McCain does not even have much topings. Oetker's topings don't even cover most of the pizza. Not sure about everyone else but if you enjoy just eating toping-less pizza you might as well order Margherita.

        • @shot:

Margherita best pizza mate good choice!

I'm going to have to say that Aldi's $3 'Cuisine' pizzas are my go-to frozen pizzas these days.

They aren't super fancy with ingredients, but they have a super nostalgic flavour that brings me back to the 'lunch bag' pizza days of my Primary School years.

I was critical at first - I mean what does $3 get you these days. But I definitely have to recommend giving them a shot

Wat kind of fancy assed parents did you have. Pizza lunches my ass. I got peanut butter sandwiches take it or leave it.

      • Hey, it was a once-a-fortnight thing, which is why I think it held such a fond memory :P

      • Lol peanuts are usually banned at primary schools?

School canteen had those mccain mini pizzas for like $3.50 but they were usually stuck to the cardboard feels bad.

        • +5

i went to primary school before all this politically correct nonsense started, and before every kid was allergic to…everything.

@DiscoJango: there are lives at stake. It is not nonsense.

some of the aldi ones are done on a stone base if you pick the right one, come up much better then dr oetker.
dr oetker seem to be a bit high in sugar in the crust so they brown easier but it also makes the crust more like a biscuit than bread.

other good ones are mc cain’s rusticata sourdough crust pizza, they are actually made in italy, for frozen pizza they come up closest to wood fired pizza on the crust if cooked right.

  • Finally. I can stock up again…

    Official pizza of OzBargain.

    • I think Hamza would have something to say about that…

Are we going to settle this in a Mad Max style death match arena where two enter but only one leaves?

  • Sadly, the factory in Victoria which has been making these for many years is closing down in 3-6 months… so eat them up while you can.

Personally I preferred the original ones (imported from Europe? Germany perhaps?) but the local ones were decent yep.

    • Really? Are you on the inside, or is this common knowledge?

  • I preferred the original ones (imported from Europe? Germany perhaps?)

    Italian designed but German engineered.

    Wait what.

  • Bondi Pizza eat your heart out!

  • Nice, got 5.
