If I remember correctly, this has a while label WD Red, or a white label HGST Helium drive.

Cheaper than the Amazon deal right now if you don't have Prime.

Don't forget 2% TopCashback ($4.50 back), or 1% Cashrewards. ($2.25 back)

Good deal, but don't forget the GST. Comes to a total of AUD$249.79 delivered.

  • if you have prime, isnt the amazon one cheaper?

    • I forgot about GST, but yeah it is.

    • In this instance (with free Amazon Prime shipping) it is. I have also checked the ASIN code for both the Amazon AU and US sites and with current x-rate of about USD0.71/AYD1.00 comes out about the same with 10% GST added. With Amazon Global shipping I have yet to witness any price-jacking but the can't be said with some Amazon Marketplace sellers who don't mind exploiting an opportunity if presented.

  • Damn WD, they have to make their model numbers slightly different for regions. Cant pricematch with Officeworks cuz Australian ones use AESN not NESN.

    • Do they perhaps come with different power plugs?

    • They are identical products. The only difference is that the US model (NESN prefix) ships just the US cable and plug.

The AESN ships with international ac plug adapters and/or cables for AU/NZ, CH,GB, EU & US/CA.

WD Support will ship to you for free an Australia/NZ adapter plug/cable upon you advising them of the unit's serial number when you physically receive it. In some cases I have received them from a WD supplier in Vietnam in about 3-4 days.

      • Where should you contact WD Support through? This link doesn't seem to have any categories that would seem relevant.

  • Is it safe to shop at Newegg now? I'm refering to this.

    • I presume if you pay via paypal you should be safe.
