Don't actually need it as I already have heaps of toolkits but I plan on extending my Xiaomi room (spare bedroom) further ;) Just need a Xiaomi TV though :/

    • +1

      Xiaomi display room?

      • +7

YUP! Well it's more the dump-the-ozbargain-impulse-buys room, but mostly Xiaomi. I guess I can add this to the mix.

        • +2

          Next step, Xiaomi House.

        • +1

@RichardL: When I win the powerball I'll buy up furniture from Youpin and ship it down here. Then it'll truly be Xiaomi Home.

        • +2

          @RichardL: No, Xiaomi Museum.

  • Price in title inclusive of GST

Doesn't need GST, since it shipped from AU Warehouse.

Works out to be AU $22.41, so cheaper than ShopPro's Deal

    • Many thanks RichardL. i wasn't sure so included it to be on the safe side.

  • Don't forget 8% cashrewards! I bought one, even though I don't need it, because of the pretty case.

    • Not sure you'll get it as a code is used. Doesn't hurt to try.

  • I’m not getting the AU warehouse option? Just CN, HK, US

    • +2

Looks like the Mobile App only shows CN, UK and HK. You have to purchase through the Desktop Site to pick AU Warehouse.

      • Yep all good, thanks

  • It looks nice but really if you are a handy man you can never use correctly, the design is a big flaw when using

  • I needed this

  • Bought it for $24.65. Couldn't find AU warehouse option but still a decent price.

  • I've been trying to get a better understanding of what exactly TORQ / TORX screws are, especially the TR-9, as I need to open my PS4 for some spring cleaning.

A lot of the kits I've been looking at don't mention a TR-9, or even a T9, so I definitely am still not getting it.

Would someone mind filling me in, please?

    • +1

Opening up a PS4 would require a T8 Torx Security Bit/Screwdriver, which can be found in this set (TORX T8H aka TR8) or in the Stanley Screwdriver Set

Make sure it a Security Bit/Screwdriver, which has a hole in the middle.

      • Lol, I was WAY off!

Thanks very much for the Bunnings link; makes it way easier buying it in person.

Do they have the security bit you mentioned?

        • +1

The Stanley Screwdriver Set that I linked, doesn't have the required T8 Torx Security Bit, only a Standard T8 Torx Screwdriver.

I searched on the Bunnings Site, but most of the Screwdriver set doesn't specify which bits are in the kit.

If you want to head in-store, you'll need a bit that looks like this

If you're in no rush, you can order them from eBay, for $1 +GST (Shipped from China)

        • +2

In addition to what Richard has said, this is a good quality security bit set sold at Bunnings in 1/4 inch form, which covers all common security bits: https://www.bunnings.com.au/kincrome-33-piece-1-4-hex-drive-…

You'll find it hard to find that type in a dedicated screwdriver format outside of online stores that sell them specifically for Xbox/PS.

        • @RichardL: Cheers for the additional information, Richard.

I generally prefer to buy online, but in this case thought going into an actual store might be better, considering I wasn't exactly sure on what I needed and product information on the Bunnings website is pretty vague for this kind of thing.

I was originally looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B079FN1GH8

Would I be on the right track?

        • +1

@McMoots: The Amazon Screwdriver set would be fine, since it has the T8 Torx Security Bit that you're after.

        • @kongkurr: G'day, mate.

As I mentioned to Richard above, how about something like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B079FN1GH8

Every guide I looked at on how to actually open a PS4 console made it sound like people should have these bits falling out of their bums, which just made me even more confused when I struggled to find them.

The guides were all on US websites, so it may be used a lot more commonly over there?

        • +1

          @McMoots: Try Jaycar.

          https://www.jaycar.com.au/6-piece-precision-tamperproof-torx…

Or, if you have a screwdriver set already that has an interchangeable bit holder:

          https://www.jaycar.com.au/the-power-driver-bit-set/p/TD2035

Tamper proof = security. Basically means that it has a hole in the centre of the bit to accommodate the central raised part of the fastener you're trying to undo. See the "variants" section of the Wikipedia article.

        • @Nomadesque: Cheers, mate!

Another great suggestion; I'll definitely check it out.

Thanks for the additional information, also.

  • Anyone recieved theirs yet?

    • my one still says it is on Back Order

      • I had to contact them asking where it was after 2 weeks.
They said they don't have any left and aren't planning to get anymore in the aus warehouse. so initiated a refund.
Bit sloppy as I had to follow it up myself.
