So with Red Dead Redemption 2 on the horizon, I have finally decided to give in and go next gen. Where should I be on the lookout for a cheap PS4 (prefferably around the $200 mark)? Should I be looking at Ebay, Gumtree or try 2nd hand at cash converters, etc.

Hahaha I actually was going to post a comment along those lines too, just like "There's a search function" but I tested it and it goes to a lot of PS4-related deals, but harder to actually find PS4 deals. So this time I'll give OP a pass =P.
Yes I already tried searching for it, every console deal listed was expired, hence why I'm asking of an alternative. Some people are so quick to jump to conclusions
Oh - just a hint: even expired deals can give you an idea of which shops will have discounts and might have it cheaper than elsewhere. So a starting place to look.
But unless you want a Pro or a Slim, and especially if you're only looking at the $200 mark, 2nd hand on gumtree is probably the best/only option.

You could probably try the facebook marketplace as well, I use it in smaller communities and find things are typically cheaper, most people on gumtree either snipe the good deals quick or check similar deals for a price point. I will say though to be ultra super careful everything works properly and they're not scamming you.
$200 for 2nd hand? Maybe a slim ver and risk getting a faulty unit? G'luck finding one.

Beware of second hand ones that have been banned/blocked for life from the playstation network.
If i was to buy a second hand PS I would want to see it on the PSN first or buy it from eb games and get a PSN subscription ASAP to check. (Then take it back if it is banned).
How is gumtree?
Wait for the PS5 or another version of PS4 release, then you can easily find a ps4 in much cheaper price. I am also waiting for that time.
