Resilio Sync (Former BitTorrent Sync) 66% off Services (Home Pro: US $20 / AU $25, Pro Family (5 Users): US $33.33 / AU $41

20for5

Best price ever, and give you a lifetime license (similar to Plex Pass).

I've used SyncThing, but it is very eating more resources and doesn't have an iOS app so this is a very good deal. The discount is for Home Pro Individual license (1 user) or family (5 users license).

Their AU conversion rate is actually pretty good so I just use it instead of converting with my bank.

Resilio Sync allows you to host your own "Dropbox-like" cloud without centralised servers in between. ADDED: It differs from Dropbox in the fact that it is using p2p technology so you don't have a central server, and instead any client can sync to other clients. It's secure, use relay servers to work even behind firewalls, and uses BitTorrent technology to move and replicate files through encrypted connections across different devices.
Useful to create live back-up, sending big files to friends/family, and much much more.

  • Have been using this product to sync all sorts of things between phones/pcs/home/work and it works quite well.

  • both home pro and 5 user allow you connect all your devices. whats the difference between these two?

My use case would be: sync all my files and maybe have a backup to my parents computer and vice versa. Would i do this on an individual licence or family?

I find the biggest differentiator is around user permission.

If you are happy to join your parents' computers and devices under your name, that works. The license is for unlimited devices, but you won't be able to restrict their access to a particular area. They have access to whatever you have.

If you purchase the family license, then they can each join as their own users (up to 5). You can then only give them access to a particular folder.

      Hope that helps

      • presume it works a bit like google drive and dropbox?

  • Does anyone have any experience on how it deals with file conflict resolution, i.e. when a file has changed on both devices being synced?

  • Does anyone have any personal experience with Resilio and Syncthing?

    • I've used syncthing on my seedbox during the past 3 or 4 years but about every 6-9 months I try Resillio just to see if it's improved. Within a few days I always go back to syncthing as they are pretty much exactly the same except Syncthing seems quicker and it's open source (which I prefer). IMO the only thing Resilio has in it's favour is that it's prettier and the one time file share thing seems like it could be handy for some folk but I've never actually used it.
