Good morning fellow Ozbargainers. I trust all is well in the land of milk and honey.
I have a sound bar and wondered if I can connect directly to my laptop. I have tried a male to male cord with no joy.
Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Z.

I've just connected the sound bar and laptop with male to male cord and switched to aux. No joy yet. What volume properties should I tweak?
What soundbar and what 'male to male' cord?
Laptop and soundbar may have bluetooth as well.
Cheers
This cord.

The sound bar is a Phillips HTL1180B.
You need an 3.5mm AUX cable.
The USB port on most soundbars, and also sound systems are generally for USB drives for direct music playback.
They are not used for sound inputs.
^ This. Ran outta votes.
Aah lol "male to male USB", no wonder. :D

Lol, thanks mate:)
Check the volume properties on your desktop.
Set your soundbar to AUX mode.
Njoy.
