About

How The Effective Vegan Diet Will Lead You Toward a Healthier Lifestyle!

Unfortunately, these days many people follow unhealthy diets; and as a result, some end up dealing with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis (you will learn about it in the book!), and even cancer in some cases. Many people underestimate the importance of their diet and its effects on their lives. Exercising regularly is crucial for a healthy mind and body, but exercising alone is not enough. It should be combined with a healthy diet, and that is the ultimate recipe for a healthy lifestyle.

Vegan Diet has been very popular among many people; however, there are still some misconceptions about veganism among many others. For example, some people still believe that Vegan Diet is not safe, because it does not fulfill calcium, iron, and protein requirements of your body. Wrong! For instance, compare beef and spinach. While the protein content of beef is about 26%, spinach will give you 49% of protein. The benefits of the Vegan Diet are limitless, as long as you follow a specific daily plan and absorb all necessary nutrients your body needs.

Protein consumption is the main concern of many who want to switch to the Vegan Diet. For that reason, in this book, we have provided all necessary and fundamental facts that you need to know about the Vegan Diet in general, and more specifically about protein consumption. Remember that, although your protein intake is very essential, a healthy diet must be focused on consuming various nutrients throughout the day.

While the protein content of beef is about 26%, spinach will give you 49% of protein.

I have nothing against a vegan diet but this is absolute horseshit. It's garbage statements like this that give people unrealistic expectations of being a vegan then end up quitting because of it. Spinach measured by weight, as in per 100g only has 2.9g of protein which is how every normal person measures their food. You know it's misleading because they measure the protein content of the spinach in measurement of calories but then give the amount of protein in beef in terms of its weight.

    • Thanks, beat me to it.

    • I have nothing against a vegan diet either but there's a reason most athletes eat meat.

there's a reason most athletes eat meat.

        pray tell.

    • +3

      Can confirm as stupid.
      Source: am vegan

I'm on the carnivore diet atm and never felt better. Vegan is a joke.

Unfortunately, the worst thing about veganism is vegans.

Q: How do you know if someone is a vegan?
A: Don't worry, within 30 seconds they will tell you.

      • Ha ha that guy's great - never heard him before!

"I eat a lot of sausage, but I never bring it up when I meet people."

Q: How do you know if someone eats meat.
A: Don't worry, if someone mentions the word vegan they will tell this joke.

      • Which happens within 30 seconds :p

I know it's a joke but seriously, I would love to not need to tell people as often as I do. When they invite me out to a restaurant, for a BBQ, offer me some of their food, etc then the need to raise the topic comes up. If someone eats meat, that's their call. I'm not here to lecture them on what to eat. Normally people ask me why I'm vegan so I would then explain, otherwise I say nothing.

Protein consumption is the main concern of many who want to switch to the Vegan Diet.

Is it? I was vegetarian for a while and the main problem seemed to be finding b12 sources.

    • +5

Protein is never a concern for vegans, that’s why premise of this book is horseshit. On the other hand, B12 is always a concern and there’s no reliable non-processed source, however, most/all vitamin supplements are vegan, so, it’s never an excuse.
By the way, vegans don’t give ratshit what carnivores think of them, seek their approval nor care that they love meat too much to give it up - veganism is about respecting animals’ innate right to life, free from abuse.

      • So ethical vegans shouldn't have a problem eating bacon if the pig died from natural causes after living a long and happy life, free from abuse?

        • +1

Strictly, “vegan” implies diet from plants. I’d say, an ethical person could eat a naturally dead pig, camel, frog, etc., if desperate - but it wouldn’t be vegan.
Believe it not, vegans don’t lust after meat like carnivores do. I don’t salivate when I see a burger, I feel sad for animal that became the burger.
World Vegan Day is coming up in Melbourne Showgrounds - I’d encourage anyone to learn for themselves how abuse of animals is totally unnecessary for a happy life.

        • I'm an environmental vegetarian, so I basically never pay for meat or contribute to the meat production industry, but I'll eat meat that's already been bought and paid for that's about to be scraped into the bin.

If the pig dies in the wild, then it's food for flies, maggots, birds, all the rest. If it dies in my backyard then yeah, it's food for humans.

I'm somewhere in between happy vegan and happy meal….

Veganism has nothing to do with diet.. there I said it :) #plantbaseddiet

  • I like the people that tell you that they are vegan/vegetarian then finish the sentence with… but I eat fish, or chicken, or eggs, or dairy, or the whole combo of non-vegan/vegetarian foods. I've met a lot of those types.

Lota confused vegetarians out there. :)
