Your DS games a way way overpriced.

along with most other things on your site.

and why am i getting an urge to stab my eyes out with a cotton bud?

    • hahaha

    • Your DS games a way way overpriced.

      i agree…

these games are selling for a fraction of that price elsewhere…

      http://www.game.co.uk/Games/Wii/Activity/Bob-the-Builder-Fes…

      http://www.game.co.uk/Games/DSi-and-DS-Lite/Action-Adventure…

      • To be fair, at dooverlackies Bob The Builder (for the Nintendo DS) is free during the promotion, but you've linked to the wrong version on that UK site anyway, you've linked to the Wii version, which dooverlackies doesn't claim to sell, so dooverlackies is still cheaper even if you bought it.

And Mr Bean…the UK site doesn't have it anymore. Remember, anyone can be cheaper if they don't have any stock. I'm pretty sure the UK guys can't get any more of Mr Bean, because it was a limited run from what I've been told.

    • -3

Ah…if you're Jeff Kennett, then that might make sense….doesn't a whole state want to stab your eyes out with a cotton bud? Haha :)

      • Haha :)

        you are hilarious…

Any chance of staying on topic ???

Do you speak to all potential customers that way ???

        • -4

Perhaps people who purposely bring up things that are off topic are competitors? Competitors who can't match the deal, of course!

    • -1

If you actually look at the links (I just did) the comparison at www.game.co.uk is wrong. Because they're either for the wrong version, or they don't even have it. Not much of a fair comparison, is it? So dooverlackies price is still lower, or free in this case.

      • you can spin it as much as you like. your offloading products that were bargain binned years ago.

here's a tip. when a PC sofware's installation instructions begin with

        "Installing the Program: Windows® 98/Me/XP"

it means it's really really OLD, and not worth anything.

        2007 Encylopedia.. cmon!!

and did you use this to make your site?
        http://www.marketworks.com/StoreFrontProfiles/DeluxeSFItemDe…

        • There's a variety of hard to get products, that's true. You're right about the 2007 Encyclopaedia though, which is meant to have been deleted, I've put a request through for that to change, thank you.

    • Your DS games a way way overpriced.

      • Don't buy them, get them free.

        • They aren't free, you need to first spend $75 on overpriced rubbish…

  • -2

Personally, I thought free was a pretty good price :) and at least half of everything on the site isn't available in shops anywhere, (new, anyway) as I have checked quite a few items.

    • If you have pay way too much for something to get something else for "free", it doesn't really count as a bargain, does it.

and chill on the tags dude…

      • Their RRP is more than TWICE the RRP price elsewhere, and everyone is selling these for well below their RRP anyway…

  • -2

Thank you for your comments. I really wouldn't want to argue with anyone (about anything!). You guys seem pretty sharp on pricing, but to be fair, are these others official Aussie product, with product actually in Oz, like Dooverlackies is?

    • Who cares, they're not counterfeit and it's the same game…

  • -2

I think some people are comfortable buying overseas and others aren't. Not just because of risks of things going wrong from overseas for whatever reason (and this is not the forum for that) but what if a buyer needs an item tomorrow? Then aren't you better of getting it overnight by Express? It's OK if you don't agree, the buyers that do care need to be serviced same day, and they are.

    • +7

on ozbargains we collect 5 cents we find on the ground

      • Lol.

      • haha, now that is funny.

    • This is ozbargain. People who are "not comfortable" buying from overseas to save $20+ on a game aren't going to be here.

I saw nothing on your site that anybody would NEED the next day. Want? Sure. But what do you have that are necessities?

www.gamecafe.com.au -> search for any items on dooverlackies and find it cheaper, almost guaranteed.

      • -1

Ashlea, if you've got kids, you'll know that they only believe in right now! But that's OK, I appreciate your perspective. Unlike some others who are just annoying, your points are both valid and actually helpful. Not sure if any game is really a 'necessity'? Except COD for the average 15-25 year old male, perceivably, but I think Dooverlackies offerings are geared toward people who are looking for things that are now hard to find, not just the latest game.

        • +2

If your kids only believe in 'right now' and won't accept anything else, maybe you need to practice a little better discipline. ;) When you make them wait 1-2 weeks for the game they want, and reward them in some way (it means they can get a game once every two months instead of once every three, for example) they'll learn to save money and be responsible.

  • well, you do have some interesting things, like 3DO games (!). not sure about the prices though

  • Dragonquest is the only decent game available and I already have it.
But really the issue is your page is horrible to navigate and it just looks like you have been purchasing stuff off ebay and reselling it for profit.

  • Also, the website is designed horribly. Take this as constructive criticism, not an insult. People will be more likely to buy from you if your website is professional & user friendly.

  • Hi again Ashlea, yes, Gamecafe is great, although you'll find (if you look closely enough) although they show up on the list with prices, as usual, Dooverlackies is the only store who can actually supply. As I said before, it's too easy to have a really cheap price on an item which makes you look great until someone actually wants to buy it. Just to make sure, and obviously this is not for every product on there, but the first bunch of Dooverlackies titles I looked at, not even 1 of the 58 retailers represented by Gamecafe had any of them!

And all games are a matter of taste, in fact most DS titles are geared towards kids, obviously, so I'm not claiming that every title will suit everybody, or that the website isn't a bit ugly (!) I'm merely saying that Dooverlackies prices are realistically the lowest (real) price out there and the products are also real and in-stock and available right now.

That's the difference. Dooverlackies HAS the stock! If you want to check properly, please actually 'drill-down' to the product in other searched stores, before realising other stores can't get them, even the pretty and big stores

So that means, these games are exclusive to Dooverlackies:

IMAGINE CHAMPION RIDER horses game, Nintendo Wii,
HORSEZ 2 Ranch Rescue Nintendo Wii game Horses Petz
    MR BEAN game Nintendo DS
    HORSEZ FARM ADVENTURES DS
DRAGON QUEST IV 4 Chapters/Chosen Nintendo DS (possibly the best DS title of this lot)
    Poker Dome for Nintendo DS
TMNT game, Nintendo DS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Warcraft 2 Battlenet Edition + Bonus Dark Portal PC (very rare)
    Starcraft (original) PC (very rare)
Far Cry 2 Collectors (Rare Wooden Box Set) - COLLECTORS EDITION with accessories - PS3
BROTHERS IN ARMS HELL'S HIGHWAY - COLLECTORS EDITION with accessories - PS3
BROTHERS IN ARMS HELL'S HIGHWAY - COLLECTORS EDITION with accessories - XBOX 360

If you want the very hard to get collector's editions, in the sealed box with all the accessories, the original RRP was $129.95, what do you think is a fair price now, considering they practically don't exist anywhere?

    • So that means, these games are exclusive to Dooverlackies:
      MR BEAN game Nintendo DS

      LOL

      sure they are…

      http://www.cdwow.com.au/games/mr-bean-nintendo-ds/dp/1608921

and it's about $10 cheaper (delivered) than your price…

      • -1

Sorry mate, you're wrong. (1) cdWOW probably doesn't have it (2) cdWOW actually costs more than dooverlackies, (3) if cdWOW doesn't have it, they can't get it again, and (4) what about all of the other titles, you've singled out one! (which you were wrong about)…why can't you just let a good deal be a good deal? Surely you're not helping anybody get things or do things, are you? Or if I'm wrong, where do you sell for better prices and better service?

    • Collectors edition and limited edition games are barely even rare anymore. They release thousands upon thousand upon thousands of them these days.

      • -2

@jv, ….um…your OWN pic shows the freight at dooverlackies to be $0 ($15 is for courier….look at your own pic mate, it shows 3 prices, and $0 is the cheapest)….why are you even bothering to reply? And what about ALL the others….??

Pokerdome, yes, the other store has it, now dooverlackies is cheaper. But why be the sort of person who would look at a supermodel, and pick something bad about them??… And honestly, why are you on here all day every day….don't you have a job? If so, which competitor do you work for again?!

        @Ashlea

        Collector's Editions:
As usual, your comment was actually not boring and you're right, that can be true, but not in the case of Far Cry 2 Collector's (wooden box limited edition); there are less than 200 PAL versions currently available in the world. Very nice custom wooden box, heavy too, new & sealed.

        • lol, 200 pal versions that aren't selling very well… as I said in another thread, I managed to pick mine up for $15, and often see this exact pack sub $30 at JB

  • I think the point is that even though you are giving away free DS games, there is a lot of dated items that no one really needs/wants.

If there is anything of value, they are expensive.
And poor website layout-no uniformity in item descriptions-varying fonts, references to auctions?, inconsistent postage.

For instance, what interested me was the N64 range:
    1. Pokemon cards for $30 per pack of 11 cards. Cheapest postage is ~7 dollars (I read somewhere on your page where you ship bulk and get it cheaper)
    2. Banjo Kazooie stickers (can't see the picture. Please use the same picture file type at least)
    3. Bust a move-your only N64 game. Review is from answers.com-can't you use metacritic/ign/gamespot

You also sell $5000 dollars worth of PS2 merchandise but you don't say what games.

I am not saying this to have a go at you but its just the steadfastness to how yours is a deal in that no one else stocks it.

If you are going for the antiqueness+rarities market —>you are 90-200yrs too early for your market

I am happy to delete this post if it outright mean and adds no value

Yes, most of that is plausible, dooverlackies started off selling at auction (not buying other people's gear as somebody suggested!). The site is pretty ugly, although I might point out that most of the whinging on this post is from people who don't own businesses, are used to getting too much for nothing, and expect everything to be perfect…when only the top 1% ever is close to that. I do understand, and it must be hard to own a business I think, as there's a lot involved, but isn't the main thing whether you get the right game, in the right condition, at a reasonable price, on time?

Also, what if someone really wants a difficult-to-find item at less than retail price…and they finally find dooverlackies > in Sydney has rare items, imagine how great they'd feel when there's only one place in the world that can help them?

Yeah, pretty long time ago, to be honest, I wasn't around back then, sorry.

You also sell $5000 dollars worth of PS2 merchandise but you don’t say what games.
Dooverlackies does explain it in detail, they're not games.

Thank you for actually saying something useful, you have a valid opinion. I think these are great value, and the prices are competitive, and the items are in-stock in Australia, the website is pretty ugly, yeah. I'm asking them to change that….no success yet, but the value is there, particularly for these:
IMAGINE CHAMPION RIDER horses game, Nintendo Wii,
HORSEZ 2 Ranch Rescue Nintendo Wii game Horses Petz
      MR BEAN game Nintendo DS
      HORSEZ FARM ADVENTURES DS

Cheers, thanks for looking at www.dooverlackies.com - I'll refer your comments.

      • I think these are great value, and the prices are competitive

        you are delusional…

        • Nobody (out of stores who are actually in-stock like dooverlackies) is cheaper than www.dooverlackies.com, for:

IMAGINE CHAMPION RIDER horses game, Nintendo Wii,
HORSEZ 2 Ranch Rescue Nintendo Wii game Horses Petz
          MR BEAN game Nintendo DS
          HORSEZ FARM ADVENTURES DS

  • I have to agree, the website layout is dated…the method of sorting irrational and oddly incorrect (N64 says 5 items of which only 1 is actually for the N64).
It honestly looks like you had a buying spree on eBay and decided to setup a website to re-sell…

And as others pointed out, the original "bargain" wasn't even a bargain just poorly masqueraded advertising.

    • 1) Yes, the website is dated and isn't perfect, but more importantly the prices of most if not all of the Nintendo DS games listed on dooverlackies.com are cheaper than all 58 of the video game stores listed on Gamecafe in Australia and overseas, not just the Sydney ones. Reselling eBay items: sellers on eBay have sold dooverlackies items before. But it wouldn't make much send the other way around, because buying 100 of the same item on eBay isn't cheaper than buying from dooverlackies, so there wouldn't be any point, would there?!? It is true that sellers on eBay have sold dooverlackies products, undoubtedly, but they are usually better prices from dooverlackies, who is the source of the items. 2) It wasn't masqueraded (good word though, nice to see you're not 12 years old!) advertising, as the 'store rep' box was ticked before starting the listing, because I do some work with dooverlackies, I've been completely up front about that. Cheers, thanks for looking at www.dooverlackies.com - I’ll refer your comments.
