Ingenious styling for audiophile listeners

RPM 5 Carbon utilises a radical concept with a lot of innovations, that originate from its big brother RPM 9 Carbon: A low resonance chassis holds a newly designed inverted platter bearing with ceramic ball for further reduced rumble. The acoustically inert platter is made from acrylic. An outboard 15V AC motor is smoothly driven using an ultra-precision AC generator with DC power supply for further enhanced speed stability. The classy 9“ cc Evo tonearm, which is made from carbon fibre is suitable for any high-quality MM or MC cartridge. A TPE-damped counterweight eliminates unwanted resonances. All ingredients add up to a miracle in sound for the price. Its ultra-stylish look is available in 3 exclusive high-gloss finish versions.

  • Aren't direct drive turntables a lot less than this?

    • Yes. Except no one wants one, unless its for scratching up like it's 1983.

        Guilty as charged.

        Rocking my Technics SL-1200s like it's 1983.

Yes they are. Direct drive turntables are mainly used for DJing as you are able to scratch on them.
Belt driven turntables have less components built into them in able to reduce vibrations, this allows the styli (needle) to track through the grooves of the records as smoothly as possible reducing as much distortion as possible.
Belt drive turntables also start at a much lower price, they also range to a much higher price! It is all about how much detail you want to hear from your music and what experience you would like to get out of your records.

Cool, I'm not up to date with the latest trends in vinyl records. I always thought direct drive was superior.
