Pretty good deal considering how hard it is to get the Ultimate Edition with any kind of discount. If you apply the 5% Facebook "Like" discount as well the price comes to $125.11.

It was a couple dollars more saving last night but the price has subsequently gone up a little bit.

Also remember, buying the digital code gets you the game on PC and Xbox and not just one platform.

  • Hi mate, thanks for listing this.

Hmmm $125.11, $15 off the $139.99 price tag on Microsoft Store isn't it?

after fh3 im not buying forza on pc again.

This time it looks like the game is well optimised for PC mate. I played the demo and it ran way way better than Forza Horizon 3 on PC.

      • I downloaded the demo and there were weird stops in the framerate . 1060/2700/16G on medium settings . Looked good but I'm more of a flatout style fan .

        • @troyww

Hmmm okay so maybe it depends on your PC then. My GPU is way better than yours (no offense), I have the MSI 1080Ti BUT my CPU is not as good as yours, it's a stock/non overclocked i7 4770k paired with 1600MHz 16GB DDR3 memory. The Forza Horizon 4 Demo was installed on my Crucial MX500 SSD.

So on my PC with those specs, the game runs very very smooth with 0 stutter @ 1080p resolution (again though, I'm only gaming at 1080p 60fps) with everything maxed out to "Extreme" graphical setting.

        • @blue2609:

          Seriously.. 1080TI and 1080P (60FPS)?

not even like 100+ FPS or something..

          Sounds like overkill to me.

        • @jenesis33:

Nah nah it's running at 60 FPS because I'm using VSync on my 1080p monitor, I don't actually know what the real FPS is.

          Sounds like overkill to me.

Depends mate. I know that for some games like Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Watch Dogs 2, even at 1080p if you crank up all the settings to max then sometimes it's pretty hard to reach 60 FPS.

Also, the reason why I have a GTX 1080Ti but only a 1080p monitor is because I got this PC used for a really really good price, so the rig configuration is not my choice haha.

        • @blue2609:

Oh well sounds like those games are just poorly optimized.

I am running 1440P (Ultra wide, 21:9, so even more pixel than standard 2K) with 1080.(not TI)
and I get 85-90 FPS in Horizon 3. Not the newest game I know.

But I assume 1080TI can run most games on 2K with 60FPS.

I guess not saying it is wrong or right, no such thing anyway.

          Just surprised.

        • @jenesis33:

yeah Watch Dogs 2 and Deus Ex: MD are not well optimised for PC, I agree.

Well, from what I see on youtube, apparently a 1080Ti can run Forza Horizon 4 on max (a mix of ultra/extreme settings) on 4K at excess of 60 FPS, so it's very well optimised.

        • I had this issue with both FH3 and FH4 until recent NVIDIA driver update. Have you tried that?

      • Can confirm that it runs phenomenally well for me, but so did Forza Horizon 3 after the multi-core patch was deployed.

I had every setting at Extreme, or Ultra where Extreme wasn't available, 4xMSAA and @ 1440p resolution and I got an average framerate of 95FPS on the included benchmark.

        My specs are a 6700k and 1080Ti.

Cannot wait to get my hands on this title.

      • that sounds promising, i'll check out the demo.

    • I guess I was lucky, never had any major stuttering issues on 6700K/16GB/970 with res locked to 1080p60 and the high preset with the dynamic quality settings on. On the FH4 demo I am getting the same results.

mine crashed to desktop every 20 minutes, tried to get a refund but microshit didn't care.

I was hoping for the ultimate to be sub $100, considering they are doing the standard for $69 (or less with 5% disc)…

Yeah me too mate. Although honestly, even at the current price of $125 (with 5% facebook discount), the game is already cheaper than Standard Edition + VIP Pass + Car Pass ($127 with 5% facebook discount).

The ultimate edition ($125 after 5% facebook discount) includes:
      - Car pass
      - VIP Pass
      - Expansion pass (which includes expansion pack 1 & 2)
      - Base Game

        • It's a good price for someone who just owns an Xbox and isn't invested enough in the franchise for the other content.

          For me personally, it's a no-go.

I love the Cross Play feature, as I have a PC and Xbox One X and enjoy playing on both, (with the PC being my preference) and having my progress synchronised across both systems is awesome.

When you also add the cost of the Car Pass, VIP Pass and the two future expansions it actually exceeds the Ultimate Edition.

Shit, I paid that much for street fighter 2 on the super Nintendo back in the 90's.

  • Wow… why are they so expensive?

    • The Ultimate Edition includes all the DLC that will be released for the game. The Car Pass, VIP Membership, 2 Expansions and a few themed car packs. It's just paying for all the games future content upfront.

      • oh ok.. that makes sense.

      • +6

The stuff 5 years ago would've been included for free.

    • Agreed. And missing Toyota . Mitsubishi etc

      • I knew about Mitsubishi, but Toyota? Damn…..

      • So.. no Prius?

      • +1

But VW is back this time

  • The Ultimate Edition unlocks a few days earlier than the other versions. However, if that's a selling point for you then be aware that CD Keys may not send out keys until the day of the standard release and in US time, meaning almost a day after for us. At least that's what happened to me when I ordered an Ultimate Edition from CD Keys before.

    • +1

      Says release is 28th

      • It sure does, hopefully it will be different this time. However, I don't think I've ever received a CD Keys key on the advertised date Australian time. For me it has always been US time.

Just an update got my code about 2 hours ago. Apparently last year with Horizon 3 it didn't go so smooth, maybe they have got their act together this time round.

  • +1

Price is up slightly again. Cost me $126.80 just now. But still best price I have seen. Hopefully I don't come across a cheaper price in the next week.

    • I'm not sure if I should rather buy from the Xbox store so I can use CC purchase protection in case the price drops later in the year.

      • At this point i'm probably going to buy on the xbox store and use cash rewards

        • Do you know if the cashrewards is 5.5% on digital game purchases or 1.5%?

      • eb games wont drop their price, doubt microsoft would either as it's an exclusive title. I figure I saved almost $15. Still the most I've ever paid for a game, I was hoping for a better deal, but gave in. Lucky it's my fav game.

        • FH3 Deluxe definitely was on sale a few times, I picked it up for almost half price I think in the December. Microsoft exclusives do go on sale sometimes on the store.

  • Has anyone gotten their codes as of yet?

  • Do you guys think it is worth waiting on the ultimate editions? or will they hold their price?
I am in no hurry to buy the game, but if the price will hold i may as well get it now rather than later

    • also, 127.74 with Facebook like 5% off code at this stage.

  • Thanks OP. Got it for around 127 with 5% off code from Facebook.
