  • Does anyone have one and know if it helps getting pet dander out of the air?

    • Absolutely, it's not perfect but it helps a hell of alot. I've used HEPA purifiers for years

      • Awesome, it has a noticeable difference?

        • Very much so, would never be without one now

    • I've got one in the mail that I bought 10% off the other dday.

I bought from the same seller. I wonder if they would let me buy again and return.

  • "Formaldehyde"
What the hell? Does it use formaldehyde or remove it if present?

    • Formaldehyde Cleaning

So it ensures my formaldehyde is clean?

        • yeah only if you purchase it

do you have to use the mobile app? or can it function and be controlled stand alone? most reviews just say "an easy app to download and use"

    • You can turn it off and on with a button (on the lower model at least)

    • Note this has some quirks with the mihome app. Only works if you set it to China region. Within that you can set English as the language but there is still some Chinese language.

      Weird.

  • I've been using this for a few months. The filter still hs over 90% life left.

When I open it up it doesn't seem to have that much dust in it. Looking at the room in certain light shows lots of dust/floaties still floating in the air.

So I'm not sure if the product is working that great in removing these particulates.

    • Does it sense dust and VOCs and increase fan speed or does it just run at a constant speed? My winix filters collect a horrible amount of dust and in automatic sensing turbo mode really clean the air.

      • Yes it does

Does anyone know where to get the filters cheap? Or whether they can be "washed" and reused?

    • You can vacuum the outside of the filter regularly to extend its life. I don't think washing would help.

      • I'm going to try vacuuming tomorrow and will report back!

      • So I tried vacuuming and got a fair bit of dust out but the machine still beeps at me every day telling me to replace. If only there was a way to reset the timer…

  • Any good deals on files currently?

  • Anyone care to comment on what these are like with respect to cooking / smoke smells? I live in a 1br apartment.. sometimes the cooking smells out the place. Would these help?

    • +1

I just fired it up cooking a few steaks and the particle detection went from 1 to 30 even thought I had extraction fan and windows open. Definitely doing its job

      • Oh awesome! How did you find the smell though? Is it more effective with windows closed?

        • Not sure, But I think the window open is ok unless you live in Beijing.

          • @poxy001: Sure, it's just in our apartment I like to close the window sometimes because it's really cold. Not sure this purifier means I can keep the windows closed and kill cooking smells.
