Looking for a reccomendation for a mobile phone holder for the rav4 2017. I've tried a few which just don't work with the vertical air vents resulting in damage to my phone (galaxy s8 plus). The side circular vents aren't ideal for me because I need it to be in the middle of the dash. Don't really want a suction mount but open to recommendations. Also open to something in the cd tray.
Checked some rav4 forums but there's too many US sellers that aren't available here.

I think OP's point of contention is the fact that his airvents are vertical, and so air vent holders will tend to just fall.
I use this. Works well. The downward gravity force of the phone forces the side clamps to move inwards when you slide it in from the top. the only downside is that the side clamp force on the phone is not very strong, so if you have a thick-ish case, the wireless charging may not kick in or cuts in and out while driving. Also, the side clamps cover the side of the screen slightly, which is mostly ok for me.

I ended up getting one that attached to both vertical and horizontal vents. Finding it quite sturdy and useful. I’ll post a link if I can find it.
Kind of bad having air blowing directly into your phone esp when it's hot air.

The Rock air vent is an OzBargain favourite.
I've used a CD one as well that uses a magnetic backing that you need to put on your phone. A bit annoying though because you need to have that magnetic backing on all the phones you'd use on the mount.
