Found this while looking at speakers for the rear of my A4 this evening, have been looking at these for a while and by far the cheapest I've seen them.
I have the 5.25's that Alpine make in the Type-R range in my front doors and they sound pretty good even unamped.
RRP is $249 AUD, so a real steal.

Really focus on pulling some high end out of your audio setup.

They sound nice, what makes you think they sound bad?
The main reason why I got them is that I have a mate with the component versions of these in his A4 and they fit. Same for the front, I know that they fit and I honestly like the sound of them too.
I'm also a touch OCD and want it all to match as well.
Next stop is a 10' ALPINE sub.
Aftermarket car audio seems to have stagnated a bit as power, not sensitivity, is still what sells.
Picking your own hifi components still seems to be the best way.
Great speakers, tweeter is quite bright and needs a - 2,-4 on the crossover if you're sensitive to harshness. Have these in my car.
