Looking to pay for an item for 150 euro and they want friends and family payment I noticed that they charge a fee for friends and family of was it $5.99.
I'm pretty sure seller gives the option 5% on top of 150 if goods and service what's the better option? I'm sure I tried to do a similar deal elsewhere and PayPal wanted or gave options of taking funds out bank account which was cheaper, personally if I buying goods overseas now I try and I let my fee free card to the transaction and not PayPal as it's normally more.
Just not sure what method to use if I have him send invoice with the 5% more then I believe I can pay and let my card dobtye transaction.
I know this guy will be good as he does this often but obviously I want to keep my costs down.

Yes but by doing a f&f payment am I not paying $5.99 as well as the crap exchange rate PayPal give by taking this from your bank account? Vs if I was sent a invoice of 5% extra to 150 euro I then pay with my fee free card is this not a better way?
I wouldn't send F&F unless they are like an actual member of your family who would suffer if they disappeared with the money. There are people that build you up with a number of smaller transactions to make you think they are reputable until they eventually disappear with your last payment.
Ask them to send you an invoice and see how much it is?
Yes there are people I trust who I happy pay this way,the above is different in this case but I be interested to know if paying which way works out cheaper I pay there $5.99 fee and say I used the bank account option then I'm screwed with PayPal exchange fees etc.
But if I'm paying by invoice say a seller sends me who adds fees so get the right amount I then use my card and let my card charge me not PayPal.
I do this often select my fee free card to do transaction over PayPal but the f&f option it charges the $5.99 and I'm positive a good bit extra from my bank account as they are doing the exchange rate they use.How does one find out it someone who requires say 150 euro what extra they would need to cover fees so they get right amount it be aud to eu.
I suggest you click on "reply" when responding to other people's comments.
Tell them to send you an invoice and find out
I thought that payment to family friend is undisputable in the case of something wrong with your order? I would rather to pay standard payment plus 5%
It is, except for a chargeback (if sourced from a credit card).
Because of this

"We’ve simplified the fee we charge when sending money internationally. Now, PayPal balance and bank account payments will incur a fixed fee of $5.99 AUD, instead of a percentage of the amount you are sending."
