ive got one of those torches….its not a 'bike light'. you cant see with it for riding and you wont be seen with it either
…lucky if its 60-100 lumen let alone 1000 & the rear light is available everywhere for sfa
i think i paid $0.98 AU for it from gearbest or whatever.. so good luck in getting people to pony up $9.59 & delivery

      Thanks for info.

no worries…i use if for plugging in cables around the back of the computer or looking for misplaced nut or screw in the garage. thats all its handy for really…and a dollar is what its worth so im not fussed & never intended using it for cycling as i have proper lights
…but its terrible that its being marketed as a safety device for cyclists :(

But it says it is '…For universal use outside the German traffic regulations (off road)…'

thoughs on decent lights? $50 for a kit?

        • where & how do you want to use them? …it all depends on whether you need lights for safety (be seen) or navigation (to see)….or both?

        • @isaw: this light was recommended by someone on a previous deal. i bought and am quite happy with it. very bright and i do recommend. https://www.banggood.com/XANES-600LM-XPG-2-LED-Bicycle-Germa…

Interesting review. I bought two of these from this seller less than two weeks ago. While there is absolutely no way in hell they are 1000 lumen, I feel perfectly save using them for ~10km (av 17km/h) rides @ night. I can see adequately, and can be seen no problem.

Neither of mine came with "1x Battery Compartment for 18650 Li-ion battery". This didn't bother me. I've never owned 18650. Would not even recognize them in a line up. I do have a drawer full of eneloops.

        • @HeDanny: …same as these or different? the detailed product images in this posting arent consistent so hard to tell exactly?

        • @franco cozzo: The image here on the listed bargain looks identical to what I have. The ones you posted look like the same light with a different (better?) mount. If they are the same light then that is one hell of a markup I paid! Feelin like I should sit in the OzBargain penalty box or something. urgh…

        • @isaw:

Aldi has a kit for $20 in the catalogue about 2 weeks ago. Really good lights to be seen.

I have a Reid Light. Not sure about the 1000 lumen claim because I have nothing to compare it with but I can see the road and whats ahead of me really well.

I purchased an 860 lumen bike light highly recommended on Amazon and various bike light review sites. Specifically the Magnus Innovation Vision II that came with an 18650 battery and was USB rechargeable.
Even this particular well-rated bike light with a lumens rating reasonably accurate is totally inadequate and unsafe for high speed (down-hill) 50km/h+ runs with no surrounding street lights. For example doing the Mt Cootha run here in Brisbane …. (Specifically the following from summit back to the bottom) https://www.strava.com/segments/2660310

I could only recommend such a light for safe street-light lit areas where max speed is around 30km/h.

If you really want to see, buy a decent light. There is no escaping spending a bit more to get something you can see bike paths and MTB trails with. Both of these are very good value for money:
    https://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/cyclingdeal-spiker-1210-4…
    https://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/xeccon-spiker-1207-bike-2…
Only downside is the rubber band type mounting system, which allows the light to move around a bit on rough trails.

    • …knowing what bike lights are like cyclingdeal would be a great option as theyre pretty excellent on warranties & returns
