Beard Trimmer <$100

I currently have the Phillips BT7085 Trimmer but have never been really impressed so thinking of getting something else. Not fussed if it has a vaccuum or not as they dont do a lot anyway. Mainly to get stubble or a short beard looking tidy and get the outlines of the beard in check.

Any suggestions on anything in market for around 100 or less?

@unclesnake: Then go and post a special on caged eggs, free plastic bags or a deal associated with a sexist charity.

  • I have a Philips beard trimmer that looks like yours but without vacuum

I use it to get a tidy stubble (setting 3) and define outline of beard like you said. I am happy with it, what is it you don't like about yours?

    • The vacuum somewhat blokes the blade so makes it somewhat tricky so have to do it going up rather than going down motion to get the outline. and the vaccumm does very little….especially when trimming back a longer beard

  • How about this one? https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Hybrid-Trimmer-Shaver-Leng…

    Thinking of getting one myself

The Pro version is awesome, different attachements but same head, I've been very happy with it.

  • I use a Remington brand one which works really well. Has an wheel for adjustment for the length and was only about $35 from memory

  • I've always used VS i-Trim Stubble, has digital adjustment, and I've always found it to be really accurate and even. Some of the other adjustable trimmers seem to take random chunks out if you don't quite get the angle right
I think Shaver Shop sells it?

I got the Philips OneBlade Pro for $109 last week and very very impressed with it, but it is over $100 (slightly).

You can get the slightly less fancy version from Amazon AU for $80, however the battery isn't as good (8 hours charge for 45 min use, vs 1 hr charge for 1 hr use on the Pro). Not sure how much that matters if you keep it plugged in though.

    • One of the reviewers (I think for the cheaper model) said he didn't even recharge it for over 6 months lol.

How often do you find you would replace the blade? And how good is it for your privates?

Haven't had to replace mine yet! (I got it last week lol)
Its alright for your junk, but better at flat surfaces rather than something sack-like.
Works wonders for body hair in general, just can be tricky to navigate small crevices or bumpy surfaces.

  • After having a number of remingtons, I went with Wahl a few years back. I realise that they're more than $100, but I cannot recommend them highly enough. In the 2 years I have owned it, i've only needed to charge it 5-6 times shaving every 1-2 weeks. The difference in quality of the shaver, and the quality of shave, is amazing. If you could find one on sale, it's without doubt worth it.

i have this one too. its the best one i've had in two decades of beard grooming and a lot of junked beard trimmers. I bought mine from the US at a big discount to the shavershop price and use a travel adaptor to deal with the US plug. the charger is multivoltage.
