[NSW] Asahi Super Dry Cans 24 Pk $34.32 @ Dan Murphy’s (Penrith)

180

Was in Dans at Penrith and they have marked Asahi super dry cans down from $64.99 to $34.32. Best before of mid October, so you have a month to guzzle ‘em. They had around 14 cases left when I picked up mine and some old codger stacked 3 on a trolley leaving 11 cases or so. They are placed just in front of the service desk.

  • Will Top Ryde Dan Murphy price match?

The $64 price tag seems a little inflated?

Dan has them online for $42.90 for a case of 24 at the moment:

First Choice has them for $40 a case:

Thanks for sharing the deal though, it's still a good price for Asahi though ;-)

They have been this around this price in the past.

However, DM's website is showing $39.90/case for me.

  • Are these Made in CHINA?

    • no, the cans are from Japan, the bottles (excluding black) are from China.

    • No

  • if it was only bottles…

    • +2

Why? the bottles are the China crap version.

      • Don't like the taste of beer in the cans.
Only difference is from where the water used for brewing. But IMO Tsingtao is excellent beer from china BTW.

I usually agree with you, but not in the case of Asahi. The Chinese brew is distinctly terrible compared to the Japanese.

It's the only exception I know of to the can vs bottle debate.

Best thing about most Chinese beers is that they are surprisingly fine at room temperature as well as cold. Makes a slow beer fine
