Will never buy another Samsung TV….. I bought a 8 series plasma paid over $6K just on 7 years ago. Had the screen replaced now a total of 3 times the last being just on 2 years ago. Now I have further issues with lines going vertically from top to bottom of the screen. Contacted Samsung and they basically told me to bugger off… they have repaired the TV too many times and now outside of statute of repairs even though last repair was only 2 years ago…… Great TV lousy service and from my experience Samsung products will not last…. think about that when you're potentially shelling out $5000 plus on a TV
Samsung TV Poor Service

looking for all good advice as I like the plasma product but the service is appalling…..
basically threaten to sue, then actually do it if they don't bite.
I'm still flabbergasted some people think a new ACL (not warranty - which is possible) period runs from each repair or replacement.
Ask them if they are ok
Have you tried the retailer?
JB HiFi don't want to know about it…. they only sell boxes
If you want to go anywhere, you'll have to make them. Samsung don't have any obligation to help you directly.
The takeaway is not to spend too much on your TVs?
$6k on a TV!! I think that is how much my car is worth. The only way I would spend that much on a TV is if I get rich enough to not care about the $6k. :)
time has changed mate … iphone is now $2,396
fair comment…. but at the time there were no TCL, Hisense or Vivo around in the marketplace. The equivalent to what I bought in Panasonic or Pioneer was $10k so it is all relative. If you wanted a 64" TV that's the sort of cost involved
statute of repairs
What is that?
You have ACL. Not sure if "reasonable" covers it.
We just had our 55" h6400 purchased August 2014 replaced by Samsung due to a failed panel.
We had the option of a cash settlement for what we paid for it or a new 4K NU8500 55".
We took the 4K.
Original tv only had 12 months standard warranty.
In the lead up letter I sent off on the basis of old mate who had his replaced as mentioned here and on the whirlpool forums,
I did mention I didn't want to go down the acl path but they said not needed and offered a free service. Provided details of the local repairer and sent him photos and proof of purchase. The repairer said if your going to have a tv fail, Samsung are the best to deal with.
The driver who dropped it off said he had a truckload of replacement tv and microwaves in the truck and Samsung are doing any thing they can to keep customers happy.Sorry to hear your pain, I'd have another crack at them OP if I was you.
Cue the TV thread guy that received full refund on his dead TV after 5 years
