The kibble's shape, texture and size help produce a mechanical brushing effect on teeth. Sodium polyphosphates bind salivary calcium which effectively reduces tartar formation.

Ingredients: Rice, corn, dehydrated poultry protein, animal fats, corn gluten, wheat gluten, vegetable fibres, beet pulp, hydrolysed animal proteins, minerals, fish oil, soy oil, Fructo-Oligo-Saccharides, green tea extracts , marigold extract

from the website: specifically tailor-made nutrition for a wide range of specific breeds of dogs. Working with world leading authorities, we combine the best protein sources and unique ingredients in biscuits specifically shaped, textured and sized to suit the shape of your pet’s jaw

An excellent food to feed your dog as can be seen from the ingredients
I used to feed my dog rubbish like Ivory Coat, but have now switched to Royal Canin's premium ingredients.

Ivory Coat does not have world leading authorities, best protein sources etc. Also I was shocked to find that foods like Ivory Coat, Stay Loyal etc did not have biscuits specifically shaped, textured and sized to suit the shape of your pet’s jaw.

it was filled with rubbish ingredients like kangaroo meal, chicken meal, salmon meal fresh fruits and vegetables etc

The only other alternative I would choose is Hill's Science diet which

provides precisely balanced nutrition tailored for a visible difference in large breed dogs and
High quality protein and thoughtfully sourced ingredients

such as Whole Grain Wheat, Cracked Pearled Barley, Whole Grain Sorghum, Whole Grain Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken Meal, Pork Fat, Chicken Liver Flavor, Dried Beet Pulp
May contain chicken as well :)

I am paying more than I did for Ivory Coat, but my dog is worth it

    • A grain based diet for dogs is not excellent. Just in case you were coming to that conclusion based on the marketing you copypasted.

did you miss the underlying sarcasm :)

        • Your sarcasm was obvious, however lately I think the worst of 4chan and reddit dregs have taken over here.

If PetRetailer(tm) offers Marlboros for their dogs at 30% less than ColesworthBigWMartarget brand sewerage grain and cereal food, these morons will proudly buy it and argue the food is good and they're doing nothing wrong because it's labelled "pet food".

    • But it's what paleo dogs used to eat… ;) ;) ;)

    • Cannot agree more!!!

You'd probably be better off feeding your dog Purina Supercoat than this food.

Atleast that way you dog is still getting his shit food without bleeding your wallet dry!!!

If your dog struggles on quality normal kibble, feed them a balanced raw diet (or cook your boneless meats if you are worried about feeding raw). Don't waste your money on these so called vet or prescription diets which are nothing but over-priced pure garbage.

But but but what about the experts and the science and the differently shaped kibble?

Also it costs more, it must be better. Hills diet has the word science in it, it must count for something :)

      • feeding your dog Purina Supercoat

        Supercoat is an excellent food

The name Purina originates from the company's slogan, "where Purity is Paramount."
Their team of scientists, including nutritionists, aim to make discoveries that better the lives of pets everywhere.
It takes a precise combination of nutrients to keep your dog in top condition. Which is why the experts at Purina have developed SMARTBLEND ® . Inspired by nature and blended with scientific precision, SMARTBLEND ® is specifically designed to promote your dogs whole body health.

I mean just look at their ingredients eg SUPERCOAT GRAIN FREE WITH REAL BEEF
Meat and Meat meals (chicken, beef, lamb and/or pork), Vegetables and Vegetable proteins and/or canola meal, Tapioca starch, Animal fats, Beet pulp; Vitamins, Minerals and Amino acids, Natural flavours

Even though it says real beef, it may have chicken or beef or lamb or pork. Each kibble may have a different animal source. It will be a constant source of surprise for your dog, which will prevent him from being bored. If you are lucky there may actually be a tiny amount of beef. And more importantly no grains!

The company is owned by Nestle who are only worried about the health of your dog and not profits
