Woolworths Rewards Points Scam

https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/woolworths-c…

Scams are no good

But I can't imagine it being too worth it, in terms. Of assuming if most people only have a few dollars of points

And even if they hacked in.
What would they do?

I Thoguht you can't even transfer points out

So you'd have to find someone with more than $10 worth of points,
And then make a copy of their card and then go to woolworths and buy groceries using the faked card?

Seems like a lot of risky work

  • If there is easy money to be made scammers will try. Because a $100 is a $100.

Sometimes the endgame is not the hacked system. Hackers engage in a practice called "credential stuffing", where they use your email login and password to try to login to other systems. This is banking on the fact that a lot of people have the same email and password for their other online services, like email provider, banking account, etc.

    • Good point. Didn't think of that
