    What a bargain

  • +8

Thanks for turning Ozbargain into Ozrefinance

  • +3

Lol is this a joke? It's not April 1. Hmm

  • +2

Guys these will be worth more than a 2007 Toyota Camry if you resell them. So clearly a good price.

  • +1

    can’t wait…..not

  • +1

No bargain here. This is just an AD.

  • Lol

  • This is not a bargain.

  • +8

    Let me ask : R U OK?

    • +2

Almost had a stroke after reading that price :( - thanks for asking

  • +1

Clearly Apple are seeing what the price ceiling is people are prepared to pay.

  • What is the bargain here.Thats a phone and Apple better price them reasonable.

  • +1

    Dafaq

  • CHeap!

  • Thinking of getting an Xs for that dual sim functionality. I carry two phones right now for work and personal use. Would love to use my iPhone 6 simply as a DAP where it’s strapped to my Oppo Ha 2SE. I’ll wait until December/January when a Optus/Telstra bargain plan comes along to snag the Xs a bit cheaper

    • Are both sims active at the same time or just switching ?

      • +2

I think switching. Next year apple will release the both active model with extra $500. Rip off to the max

        • Jokes aside, it's not too bad if guys like Optus are offering 200gb mobile data alongside the phone. 120-150gb is my average monthly internet usage. That essentially eliminates any need for an ISP.

        • @JuliusSeizure: better get a prepaid optus sim and tried out their internet before making the commitment, my house is only 400m away from Optus tower but speed at rarely get over 20mbs with significant ping lag, the telstra and vodafone tower on the other hand is twice as far but I always get better speed.

        • @lgacb08: I would be more than happy to use a 20mb per second download speed. I only use my internet for general browsing and work

I looked up DAP in urban dictionary and I think you're doing it wrong

      • You have DAP in caps. So what do you think it stands for?

        • +1

Umm you have DAP in caps too in your comment, above

    • Thinking of getting an Xs for that dual sim functionality.

How are you going to use the eSIM in Australia?

      • +2

        I pray.

    • The second sim is esim
And I wouldn’t hold your breath for Aussie carriers to support esim in iPhones. Be good when you travel and want to use it and your Aussie number but there is a reason you can’t walk in to any of the big carriers and buy a dual sim phone

      • It only takes one carrier to submit for everyone else to follow. This is what happened in Spain where telcos have become utilities and operate in virtually a competitively priced market. Well I guess Telstra will have some power because of its extensive rural coverage. Telstra stands to lose the most so let’s see how influential they still are in politics.

        • Agreed, but i doubt the big 3 will be in any rush to support it.

  • I guess it depends on how you define bargain.
I think this is the point where Apple really does become a luxury brand for those with more money, or where the company is paying.

  • +2

Ok this is just getting ridiculous now. And I’m an ‘iphone’ guy, but will stick with my iPhone 7.

    • +2

Yep me too. I used to upgrade every 2 years but with these prices I’m gonna stretch it to 4 years. My iPhone 7+ is sufficient.

    • +1

$2400 is enough to get you a full blown gaming desktop with all the bells and whistles - Apple's having a laugh with this one. I'm waiting for Google's announcement next month and then will see how the OnePlus 6T goes, if either of them are decent I'm switching.

    • I love apple iphones but these are silly to buy with such price tags. Pass for me.

  • +1

They pushed their luck with the pricing of the iPhone X last year - seems like the good sales told them to take it to the next level for no real reason.

  • +2

Too cheap my palm is allergic to cheap mobile phone under $5000.
Come on apple make one for me!

  • +1

It looks like an expensive Mi Max…

  • +7

"The most accurately-named iPhone ever. The iPhone Excess."

  • Full price?

    • better name: iphone XP.
      for excessive price

  • Full whack ain’t no bargain. It ain’t like the recent JB and Optus deals on the X…

  • Warren Buffet thinks the iPhone is underpriced.

  • +1

with this price, anyone want to split and share the phone with me? sydney only please.
i use it during the day, you can have it during the night.

    • +1

Did that with a most basic $750 Nokia in the 80's. Colleague & I alternated weeks, taking each other's bookings. Worked OK until someone stole the phone on my watch😢

  • +1

why tomorrow i cant wait to order 10!! one for each fingers.

  • +1

It’s that time of the year when people break their fixed deposits and stand for days on the footpath infront of an Apple store so they can get their hands on the latest and greatest.

    • Sadly true.

  • +2

Imagine paying $2300 for a status symbol that will be outdated before then end of next year.

    • +3

      2020 comes along:

The new iPhone Supreme XS Max 1024GB is available to pre order at the bargain price of A$9.969.20

Pre-order starting at 5:01 pm AEST on 14.9.

(It's now 10 inches big - still no headphone jack - and it has no buttons anywhere but nothing else has changed)

    • +1

Phones aren't 'status symbols'. Just try telling me you can tell the difference between any modern phone from more than a meter away. What an absolutely ridiculous price though, being technically (because the difference is negligible) outdated isn't the problem, the problem is that most people never keep a phone for more than two years, and I'll admit that includes me which I've been fine with so far. But getting into $1k+ territory every year for a phone, and that's without the actual SIM/plan, is just insanity.

  • +1

Also consider this, it still doesn't come with a fast charging solution in the box. It's extra. It still uses a lightning to USB-A cable with a 5W charger. They also are removing the headphone adaptor this time around, so that's an extra too.

But I guess they didn't become the world's first trillion dollar company just by twiddling their thumbs ..

but meh, after buying the Essential phone I really haven't missed jumping ship from Apple. Maybe aside from CarPlay. It even got Android Pie on day 1.

  • +1

I'm in the Apple ecosystem and personally I thought the iPhone X was already getting ridiculously priced (which is why I didn't get one) because they're almost the same price as my Macbook Pro.
However having said that, people still bought them, so I guess it was a good thing I used the money to buy AAPL shares and I wouldn't bet against them at this stage - no matter how pricey these phones look.

  • At 2.3k, couldnt they throw in free apple care?

    • At 2.3k, couldnt they throw in a free Headphone Jack Adaptor ($10)?

Edited: Price has gone up by 50% to $15 for the headphone adaptor.

  • Where's the bargain?

  • Disgustingly overpriced. It is just my opinion though.

  • I have had iPhones continually since the 3GS, I have Apple computers and many other items. But with this generation of phone, the price delta
To quality Android phones like Xiaomis has just become too large. Why would I get a $2400 phone when for $300 I can get a Xiaomi phone with 90% of the same functionality and put it on a cheaper sim plan to boot? Next time Apple, when this iphoneX becomes too old, you’ve lost me.
