Tested to give $7.21 delivery for NSW address, otherwise free delivery with $49 spend for Prime members.

Not a stationary collector nor a designer myself, but saw this on PriceHipster, and seems like a good deal for those who actually use this (lowest Amazon US price according to 3Camels). Especially a brief search on google on this gives back results of AU$60+ before shipping. (or US$50+, or Euro 50+)

Not very lucky that AUD/USD is pretty low at the moment, while it is predicted/expected to go up in the next few months along with interests rates, no idea if this price will stay until then.

Hope this helps those who use this.

$39 for a mechanical pencil?!? Sorry but I am sticking to my Xiaomi Mijia pens that use quality ink and look and feel good for at max $5.

Try doing technical drawing all day with that pen and see how you go

        or just use Autocad…

        • +2

You can't use AutoCAD for sketches.

          @wangsk:

          Use AutoSketch then…

put it this way… makes the Apple Pen or Surface Pen seem like value…

    • Rotring has been copied by companies eg Retor51 …..and fetch high prices on the used market, the Xiaomi pen isn't worth copying ….as we wait for Chinese design to be original and timeless, and worth copying ….

If you prefer 0.7mm like I do, they are $1.47 here for a 4-pack

Buy Zebra Delguard pencils I have bought them for the whole family around 10 bucks but awesome.

    • Yeh it seems the lid is unbreakable with that Zebra. How did u go with it?

      • Lead, yep only if you drop the pencil on the ground or make the lead to long, and it's just a nice pencil to hold. Bought a box of 12 for $50 delivered recently. Fluro yellow, nice.

        • What u wanna do with 12 of them mate? :)

  • I prefer the venerable Pentel P205 myself. I think they're still Made in Japan, and only $10 local ($8.50 ebay).

  • Whoa… I've had a few Rotring pens many decades ago… I had no idea they were this pricey.

    • price went through the roof, Matt Damon used a Rotring 600 ball point pen in the Bourne movie

      https://bleistift.blog/2012/12/jason-bourne-and-the-rotring-…

after that the price went trough the roof on ebay and other selling sites, problem was Rotring had stopped making them …..

They continue to make the pencil version though in Japan, Rotring is now owned by Rubbermaid ….

you can get Rotring 600 "homage pens" from Retro 51, but not 100% the same, like owning Invicta watch instead of Rolex,

      • Wow… I guess if it happens to watches then I shouldn't be too surprised to see it happening to pens. Funnily enough, now that I think about it, my rotrings weren't even the priciest of the technical pens I had. I remember the staedtler's to be pricier. (pricier being relative- that was in an asian country and the pens wouldn't even have broken the $10-11 mark.

  • own one, and the only one you ever need.

    • Until you lose it 😂
