How would you then use 4 controllers if there are only 2 USB ports? (not sure how many USB ports there are)
Also there are pressures to be alleviated as the SSBM melee scene is thriving and GC inputs are preferred there
USB hub?
The Wii/Wii U can be pretty finicky, think hardware has to be pretty specialized and it won't just accept USB hub but not sure… anywho there's a reason all the GameCube controllers and variants are GC plugs..
I would rather pay 90 AUD for this to be wireless. Just like the wavebirds.
Why would GC ports be preferred over USB? I doubt they’d care as long as it was hardwired.
Because melee is a gamecube game?
tbh they should really be wireless, it's 2018. The freakin' WaveBird was a thing on the GCN, for shit's sake.
Doesn't mention anything about it having a USB connector.
yeah its the same thing
Appears to just be the product page for the Amazon US import/listing.
Still got the one when Wii U Smash came out, unopened. Looks like the only difference is the logo
Same here. Still have the original official Gamecube controller from when they were originally released back on the Wii.
The re-release is exactly the same the original Gamecube wired controller and USB adapter that was available on the Wii/Wii U. For Super Smash Bros Brawl Wii / Super Smash Bros Wii U and Gamecube backwards compatibility on the original Wii.
Don't forget, you'll need the adapter to plug this in too, which runs you another 30 bucks.
I love the idea of the adapter, letting people use their old school controllers, but realistically, the newly manufactured ones should just be USB remotes, rather than having the original plug.
