[NSW] Ozito Power X 18V 5.2ah Blower Kit $79 (Was $139) @ Bunnings Seven Hills

480

Got this yesterday, had around 10 left.
Given that the 4Ah batter is $69 and the fast charge is $29, this seems a very good deal.

Did i want one, of course not. Just went to get some $2 flower seeds

  • might check to see if they have any near me. cheers.

  • Nice OP! The 5.2Ah 'UltraCharge' Batts are $99 by themselves so yeah, nice deal! Can't see how the 5.2Ah batteries labelled 'UltraCharge' are any different to the ones that aren't so I assume they're identical.

    • i think ultracharge refers to it's a bigger capacity battery not because it charges faster.

      • Yes but there are two versions of the 5.2Ah battery… one labelled 'Ultracharge' and one not. I assume they're the same though.

        • oh really? no idea about the other one then.

        • +3

@HKS: Hmm, interesting. Going by the attached pic in this deal (assuming it's accurate) it looks like the supplied 5.2Ah battery has a black top as per all the other capacity batteries however the 5.2Ah 'Ultra' battery has a red top. Digging a little deeper it seems the Einhell battery range has a couple of red top 'PXC Plus' batteries to choose from so maybe they are in fact different. Maybe this is why these kits are on clearance… they're just wanting to clear out the slightly different batteries. Maybe the Ultras use Sammy or Pana cells too. Dunno, all speculation.

        • @SteveAndBelle: Did a bit of practical research during my lunchbreak. Managed to get a side-by-side pic of the 4Ah & 5.2Ah batteries As you can see both batteries are the same physical size which means the 5.2Ah 'Ultra' battery contains higher density 18650 cells… obviously 2 x strings of 2600mAh cells in series/parallel versus the same config but only with 2000mAh cells in the non 'Ultra' batteries.

So there you go :) Unlikely there's much difference between the black or red top Ozito Batteries with the same rating.

  • Can it be used as vacuum as well?

    • +3

No, this does't suck, it blows… possibly figuratively and literally :)

  • now I have to go to a few local Bunnings

  • Can I use this instead of compressed air cans to clean inside my computer?

    • I'd say so, difficulty, it's like a metre long.

The small hand blower would be more suited

      • I could just get someone else to hold it up while I aim the nozzle carefully.

    • I find a brush and those pump air blowers fine enough.
Dust in computer is like dust on a camera lens - it doesn't need to be perfectly clean though I've met people who fork out for all those tools and silly products trying to make it so.

      • Which air pump blower would you recommend for dusting computers,

        • A paint brush… Its all pc techs use…

        • I just use the rocket blower that I got with a lens filter purchase a while back. It's like any other cleaning thing I suppose; compressed air or other more beefy methods would be better if you happen to have not cleaned it for a while and you're feeling lazy lol.

I used to buy compressed air as well then just figured I'd rather buy something else with the money and just be less perfectionist with the dust in my PC :P

        • This is great for dusting computers and anything else indoors.

        • may as well buy a heatsink that has accessible fins for that much money

Id be picky what you use to blow out sensitive electronic stuff. Ive been told you can get a significant static charge from blowers. Your leaves dont care, RAM will…

      • @Robc You're dead right about these options being static monsters. You should only use an ionizing blower and conductive filament brushes to clean out electronic equipment especially computers. Every time you use an aircan or paintbrush you are almost certainly damaging your silicon. Whether this damage results in a fault is just a matter of luck.

    • Yes, you can. This is what I use to clean my computers.

  • I have one of these. Can recommend.

    • +1

      Me too.

5.2 Ah battery is about 40-50 minutes of blowing!(Ages!)

I'm a big fan of Ozito these days. I have the brushless drill, the blower and the hedge trimmer and they are all fantastic. My old man has the pole trimmer which I borrow from time to time which is also great.

    • Does it give the blow speed in the specs?

  • Thanks OP!

  • Good deal. Just used the Ryobi one for some garden spring cleaning and don't think that sort of <$100 5Ah tool deal will be around much.

  • +1

Most importantly, did you get your seeds?

    • +2

Got more that what i was asked to bring :). Need to justify my purchase to The BOSS at home.

      • 'hey honey, look what came as a bonus with the seeds!'
pull open huge power blower box

  • Im guessing no pricematch across other stores?

    • +1

Based on what i have seen on OZ, No.

  • OP, any chance of getting the I/N number from the side/back of the box?
*EDIT I/N:3381082 for anyone looking.None near me.

  • Great buy, though must be deleted stock seeing as they are not on the bunnings website. Plus ive not seen them in the 4 stores that i get to.

  • Thanks op, just picked mine up, 3 left. Register rings up as $75.04

  • for our battery storage needs, well unless you can 3d print or
what Im going to try which will be cutting out a block of wood and trimming to size to attach to my diy tool holder.
