Anyone Had Success in Requesting Amazon AU to Add Amazon US Product?

Since the 1st July changes regarding GST, I and I'm sure many others have become very frustrated with Amazon US. I used to order lots of products from Amazon US. I admit that sometimes it was about price but other times it was about being able to order an item not available locally. Sometimes it was a combination of both. I understand that the government wants to charge 10% gst on all foreign internet orders but what annoys me is this policy Amazon have now adopted that you cannot order anything non-digital from any foreign Amazon stores. This means with are completely tied to Amazon AU's catalogue which quite frankly has bugger all products in it.

Why can't foreign Amazon stores just add the 10% gst to the order and continue to ship to Australia as they did previously? Surely this is the most simple solution and very easy for Amazon to implement.

My current gripe is that I want to order two Vinoair Premier Gift Sets - currently listed on Amazon Global for 16.11 USD and will ship internationally to pretty much any country except Australia. If I go to Amazon AU they currently sell the non Premier version via Amazon US but do not sell the Premier version. The premier version is available on Amazon AU but only via third party sellers, some of which are charging up to 32 AUD postage costs on top of an already inflated price making the total cost around 60 AUD per unit

I contacted Amazon AU to ask why, if they can sell the non Premier version via Amazon US, why can they not sell the premier version via Amazon US? After all it is available for shipping to pretty much every other country in the world except Australia. I've spoken to 3 Amazon reps so far. All of them seem completely shocked that I cannot order it to be shipped directly to Australia. They also seem completely unaware of the non-digital item ban that applies to all foreign Amazon orders. Every time I contact them they say they will put in a request for the item to be added to Amazon AU and offer me 10 USD promotional credit for Amazon US but still the item does not get added despite their promise of a 24-36hr turnaround.

Has anyone else had success in adding a Amazon US item to the Amazon AU store? The 10 USD promotional credit is pretty pointless if I cannot actually order anything!
