Issue with 55" Kogan TV - Help Me Trouble Shoot

Hi,

I was given a Kogan 55" LCD TV - model KALED55XXXTA -that is not functioning.

when plugged into power the red standby light is on.

I press the "On" button on the back of the TV (no remote) and the red light changes to blue.

there is an extremely brief flicker of white at the top of the screen but the screen remains black.

what could possibly be the issue?

I have an old Sony LCD 52 which behaves much the same.

I turn it on at the side; the screen is dead but the green light is on. I leave it that way.

After 15-20 mins, I turn it off, then back on after a 5-10 sec pause.

The screen is now lit and stays that way.

I had a kogan TV which had the same issue.
I was very disappointed with the support provided and ended up getting a refund, but it took over 5 weeks to get a refund.

I've had a similar model Kogan 55" for probably 10 years. It started to play up so I called them and they sent me the firmware with instructions to reflash it. Since then it worked for another couple of years and then needed another reflash. Still working perfectly fine today.
